  1. They are talking about shooting through the "shoot through" fabric like it is advertised for. As in CUTTING the fabric as it moves out of the bow.
  2. I am in no way saying you are wrong, Grow. I just can't get my head around it. Out of curiosity, how far out did you test it?
  3. lmao. I have always wanted nothing to touch my arrow from the time it lease the bow until it hits the target. I just can't wrap my head around how it would have NO effect.
  4. I've never done it. Always removed the mess because I thought like you do. Only one way to know for sure. report back.
  5. Obviously the owner has no interest in maintaining good customer relations. He was rude and didn't have the time to work out what THEY screwed up. If I could save fellow hunters from a similar experience I sure would. Not everyone deserves to be running a business. Hell many don't deserve to be working with the public. It's a great profession if it weren't for the customers. I'd be gettign a pound of flesh one way or another.
  6. Is there some forum rule about not naming a business that does $hit work?
  7. College freshman chasing girls at 9 pm and the Seniors waiting until closing time.
  8. No but I did stay at a holiday Inn last night....lol Monday night I had 4 bucks parade by my stand at 10 yards. two 4's and tow small 6's. All in a group and they did chase around one young doe for about 5 minutes before she got fed up and bolted.
  9. From what I read on their site they weight heavily for the "likely voters" polls. I think that in this specific election it may be underestimation Trumps underground support. I think it will be a nail biter unless either totally blows the next two debates or some major October surprise comes out. (I'm betting either side will hold until late October or early November so the other side has limited time to react/counter.)
  10. That is why I only buy the ladder stands where the platform goes all the way back to the tree. I like those double straps. Glad you are ok
  11. I believe that the other thing that gets overlooked when iron sights are only used, is just how shaky off hand shooting really is. I find that with a scope I really buckle down and get a steadier hold becasue every movement is magnified as well as the target.
  12. I have shot both but in the last 25 years I have had glass on all of my hunting rifles and shotguns for big game. I believe that once you get used to using a scope there is nothing that you cant do with iron sights that can't be done better with a scope. I had two buddies that HATED scopes becasue they were too hard to pick up deer, especially if moving. I worked with them one summer and they are scoped on all their guns now. Have the proper ring height, have the scope set so there is instant clear and full field of view and don't buy cheap glass. Practice staring at the target and bring the scope up and into that line of sight (even on moving animals) don't raise the gun/scope to your eye and then try to find the target. If that makes sense. And I know Pygmy will scold me but I like magnification...lol. 2-7, 3-9 (on most of mine) and on my '06 4-12 Pistols and Win94 are fixed 4
  13. If you never seen a cable let loose and the accompanying damage to the limbs, you don't want to. It is just a matter of time before it lets go and. I have seen two failures in leagues and it wasn't pretty. Both guys were very luck that they didn't have more permanent damage to themselves. Both bows were toast.
  14. Glad you are OK. heal up it is a long season.
  15. But you specifically said no open carry in NY. NY doesn't regulate the carry of long guns in open carry. The addendum you quoted may be a local but it is NOT a state restriction.
  16. Welcome. It amy be helpful to at least get a general location or area of the state you love in. Not for the guys above but so you can see who on the forum is around you location. It may help when asking questions.
  17. the next day and a couple years later when buddy got a really good one. No dice. For all I know she palmed it and pawned it...lol
  18. Mine is in an old corn field down in the Mohawk Valley. Take my advice. Never break up with you high school sweetheart on a dark night after parking in a corn field. Or at least get the ring from her first. Who knew she could throw that well?
  19. I've got a few jars left from last year if you wanna test drive one.
  20. cooks it and makes it SUPER tender and you don't need electricity to store it.
  21. It is very very easy and the Ball canning guide is a wonderful reference with recipes and instructions. I have had canned venison for 3 years, on the shelf with no refrigeration necessary and it was like the day I canned it. I have this one and it will do anything you would ever want. Can be used as a pressure canner or just as a water bath canner for your acidic stuff like pickles and tomatoes. Very very heavy duty. I have seen better pricing aruund though. Just grabbed this to show the model . I bought this one over the 15 becasue it gives me much better capacity for pints. the quart capacity is the same. http://www.allamericancanner.com/allamerican921pressurecanner.htm
  22. check a canning guide but I believe that for cold packing it will be 75 minutes for pints and 90 minutes for quarts.
