What is actually happening in stores like Field and Stream is the had them in and it was advertised for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The stores are hording and stretching the ammo out over days to continually have people come in for traffic. I know for a fact that the buckets were in the Henrietta F&S on all 3 days in the am but were "sold out" later in the day. Really helps the working guy, huh?

So you want your "choice" to take two deer but want to tell a hunter his "choice": should be modified? What about the guys in the limited or no doe permit areas? They don't have the option to just take an extra doe. -

I actually prefer a peep that, at full draw is the same visible diameter as the round housing around my sight pin. -
NY DEC is on record stating AR's provided were for social benefit only. Is that a sound management practice is that what is really "important"?. I wonder if they move forward with a further AR expansion that they will change their official stance on it or if they need the survey data to support their current public stance?

Agree with all of that. I do believe there is a warming trend on the earth. I question the extent which man is speeding it up. I believe from what I have read that it is cyclical. After all I bet if we could interview a few woolly mammoths, they would attest to a significant global warming. I am a bit older than you but I remember growing up and the buzz of an impending cooling, to the level of another possible mini ice age. We are a world of "Chicken Little Syndrome" and with so many conflicting studies and reports it is difficult for me to get behind any new save the world legislation. I have seen too many knee jerk reactions that have consequences that the short sighted implementers didn't anticipate.

Now Belo, are you going to sit there and try to assert that the manipulation of statistics and information hasn't taken place by those who benefit from what ever environmental crisis of the day? Everything certainly isn't all blue sky and roses but don't you think your emotional position on these topics isn't driven by the fact that you make you living in that market (IIRC). As far as CFC's the current refrigerant being used is so less efficient that the energy consumption for the same tonnage of cooling is much higher. That energy doesn't grow on trees. I have not seen a study showing an evaluation comparing the environment impact of that trade off. Energy usage is higher in operation, physical equipment is larger thus using more resources in manufacture and requiring larger areas to house the equipment. There are trade offs. I just question motivation when the ones blowing the warning horns are the ones that profit from the danger.

There really isn't that much data on the tag. I don't see the issue. Dates are easy and are there already in what we cut out. Unless they changed it I do t think we report antler points. It is on the tag but I don't think it reports. Season and implement used are dots now. The only sticking point I see is location of the kill. I haven't done it to compare but I wonder how the zip code maps works? Might as well have some use for that code beside delivery of junk mail. Lol. As fast as licenses by mail. Do tags are available online? I haven't tried that but I will this year. Hate those lines. I still can't see why a code on the receipt from registering g you tags couldn't be used on line when ordering. I do think the problem is more wide spread than we may think. I hear so many accounts especially the getting the tag and reporting it without taking the doe. I guess there is no stopping that no matter what change is made.

I don't agree. In your scenario you can still take a deer and just repot it as no harvest. An in person scan eliminates all that except for those willing to take and transport an u tagged deer. I can't believe the machines would be that tough to scan the tags. Similar to how you scan your own lottery tickets. Barcodes and dots filled in. No real manpower addition. Self scan and a printed receipt that is then used in the license line in order to buy you next license.

I don't follow. Do you mean like one doe tag at a time? I wouldn't want that. It would stop the ability of taking multiple deer on the same day or out of the same group.

You are correct. It was supposed to be a stab at humor. Guess I missed the mark
