  1. He is catering to the minority audience today. Teenaged crime in the African-American community is very high. He is pandering to the parents and relatives that have teenagers that have been in the system. I will agree with him that they would be much much better off sitting in a seat in a classroom. I guess you could say that about any kid that decides to walk away from an education. The issue is, what is he proposing to get them IN those seats. This is the Liberal approach. Bitch about and treat the symptom rather than the illness itself. The truth is those kids wouldn't be committing those crimes he wants them to get a pass on if they were in school. (how many A or B student's do you hear bout committing Felonies? BUT what is his plan to get them in school? Mandatory Pre-K and full day Kindergarten? yeah...ok.
  2. I do. Even though I may not agree with those choices, I can't say it is my place to force my views on those topics on anyone else. I don't believe abortion is right, but that is my personal choice. I also have a differing opinion from many on Late term abortions. If the baby looks like a baby, to me it is a baby, Each woman will have to live with their decision. I know 5 women that have had abortion earlier in their lives and all 5 struggle with the decision to this day. I also personally believe that marriage is between a man and a woman. if the homosexual community wishes to have something to signify their union, Then have at it, but it isn't marriage. (probably wholly molded by my religious views) If the Govt wishes to acknowledge that union with legal benefits, then they should. BUT if they do then they should also be willing to also legally recognize others' wishes for other types of relationships such as polygamy. (for what ever reason some guys have a desire to have more than one wife is beyond me...lol)
  3. What I find funny (funny in a sad way) is the Left, will beat their chests and cry it is a right in the case of abortion and same sex marriage, but they don't seem to be willing to apply the same "thought process" to the right to protect ones self and the Second Amendment. Apparently "Rights" are only used as a battle cry when they fit your end game.
  4. Well there is an oxymoron for you. How do you pay for these "progressive social" programs and be staunchly conservative fiscally? Think about it. You can be very conservative and not be a "Bible thumper". While they may share some of the same views, they are not necessarily the same lines of thought.
  5. Love my tumbler. Doesn't do crap for how they shoot but they sure look purdy
  6. Wondering what is the poundage range of the bow and what you have it set at? I have seen them squeaky when they are at the very low end of their range.
  7. The big problem I see with the site for development is utilities as well as all the structures that are being left by the Army. All the bunkers and such are there. The amount of demolition for those massive concrete structure would be huge dollars to remove.
  8. I agree that they learn it from their parents (good and bad). Right down to work ethic, respect and responsibility. Pull one parent out of the equation and let the kids on the street to learn it from other kids that haven't had a grounded set of values instilled and the product is a downward spiral. It certainly isn't every kid but I have to say that I think the percentage of kids that don't demonstrate those values is higher than when I was growing up. And probably the number in my generation was higher than a couple generations prior to that when you were growing up
  9. It has been hunted since the 50's. But you had to be stationed or working there, I think
  10. For the price range I would be heading to the gun shops that carry used guns. I have found that before Christmas and before taxes are due is a pretty good time to look for used ones
  11. The groups desire is to have something there that would allow public access in to be able to enjoy all the wildlife that is there. I gues two offers for the property were made. one a pig farmer (hoe the locals enjoy that...lol) the other was Safari club international (what do you think their intentions are?)
  12. I understand what he meant, but it sounded like is was concocted by man, This is one of those topics where some people will see the benefit of trying to maintain them while others will see it as no big deal. I enjoyed the ones I saw. From the tours this group ran it appears there are many others that did as well.
  13. in the law. EVERY purchase must have one. not once. not once a year. not even once a week. EVERY purchase. how are you going to like that when Gander or some other retailer decides to place a 3 box limit on you. that will be $20 added on every 3 boxes
  14. That aside...do you own or use a gun? Do you believe in the 2nd amendment?
  15. I wouldn't hunt down there if you paid me. I would let those locals chase them around their yards with their contraceptives until the deer $hit was up to the first barren branch on their over browsed shrubs.
  16. I am new to this so explain that to me. I would think the valuable fir in on the body. No?
  17. yes...lol and probably the list where no one reads them is a lot longer than the bills that are actually read
  18. Many of those "representative" voted on this with out even reading it because there wasn't time. All the more reason to send them looking for a job and McDonalds. If you don't have time to read and understand how a bill effects the citizens you represent the default vote is NO
  19. Doc, I believe he means the State has funding it CAN use for cases such as this. Not that it is proposed or earmarked for this. The same "pot" that funded the Hemlock Canadice purchase. But this one does not have the Nature Conservancy support because is isn't a natural/pristine enough setting like Hemlock is
  20. Steve, Unfortunately the court system has it's own pace. The mid terms are in November. Our efforts there is something we can control. the speed of the current law suits isn't.
  21. There is but without political pressure the IDA has no intentions of looking at anything other than development.
