  1. I know....but there is no hypothetical answer for me...lol
  2. And I will contribute all I can afford to organizations that oppose it. Doing an end around to the Constitution is not acceptable and shouldn't be allowed. I don't care what freedom we are discussing. If they want it take the appropriate steps. They are clear and outlined.
  3. These same political clowns banned a bayonette lug.....really? a bayonette lug? when was the lat time one of those were used in a crime?
  4. I pick the none at all aspect. Stand our ground and give nothing. If they want them then there is a legal avenue to ammend the Constitution. This is where just by shear numbers of states the Blue states fall short. They have to attempt other avenues because they will never muster 3/4 of the states. (another reason to keep PR out of statehood)
  5. The 2nd Ammendment has nothing to do with deer hunting. Deer hinting limitations is outlined in our conservation laws and I believe does limit Mag fed to 5 shots. the 7400 and the BAR don't offer an aftermarket in 20 or 30 round versions but several manufacturers offer a 10 round Mag. Most of the shotguns offer an extended tube Mag and the speed loaders are crazy fast to use. Using a litmus test as to what you have a need for is a huge error. The same group that will be pushing for these limits ans bans to take place are the same groups that won't address the real problems under the guise of limiting freedoms and rights. Ironic don't you think? Maybe since som many are pointing to the sensationalizing by the media as a contributing factor in the frequency of these horrors we should be banning TV ...internet...things like that too?
  6. So that would put in the rifles like the Remington 7400? So you are suggesting any exterior magazine with the possibility of having a mag over 5 shots should be banned? If you look at the desire to cause damage in a a spot of unarmed and umarmoured people like a school or even the theater that previously happened. The arm to cause the most casualities and damage would not be the "asault rifle". If we are going to ban weapons based on potential threat we should be taking shotguns away first. Grab the speed loaders for the shotguna and load it with 00 buck. Have you ever seen how easy they load the shotguns in a competition?
  7. ACC...It bothers me to see people that keep throwing out the "assault rifle" term. What do you consider a rifle in that category and how does that really differ from the rifles that people typically consider for "hunting"?
  8. I have gotten automated emails from the site sayign a thread I started of commented on has been moved. That only works though if you have notifications active in your preferences. BUt that was before the site was upgraded and I have since turned off niotifications so I am not sure now.
  9. Great post DOc, with one modification. "They are there to help you educationally and are experts in doing that." Should read "They are there to help you educationally and SHOULD BE experts in doing that." LOL
  10. He has done a bear rug and two deer heads for me and His character and work is great. One word of warning.....DO stereo type him becasue of his age and underestimate him when greeting him with a handshake. If you go into that grip weak you may be going to Dr.'s office. This gentleman has a crazy strong grip for a 20 year old....lol
  11. By definition a soulution is an action or process to correct a problem What WNY is saying the Problem is NOT the perception of us. THe problem is the freaks that do this kind of thing and all the hand holding and Kumbya singing (no offense Steve and Doe) will NEVER correct this. The same group oh pining for gettign rid of all guns as the solution to this eveil are the same groups that have supported the downward spiral of morality in theis country. Oppose the death penality. The same group that finds no problem with kids spending hours infront of a video game killing police oe listening to music about rape and killing becasue they have a right and freedom to do so, IS a lions share of this problem. More so that any gun could ever be. The guns are not the problem. The attitude that little Joe is so precious and can never do wrong and the parent is evil for putting a boot in hi ass when he screws up IS part of the problem. The hell with this. I am done. I am going home and hug my daughter. I suggest everyone here does the same. God bless and have a great last weekend if you ML hunt.
  12. the same crowd that has a problem with all the evil guns are the ones that want these wackos "treated" for thier "illness" and then push that they not be locked up like the animals they are.
  13. Not the problem. Your thread title should read "how to get and keep the wackos off the streets."

  15. I shot a doe the morning we had snow out here. It was that very light fluffy snow. I thought she left no blood trail until I back tracked from finding her to get a ranged distance to the stand I was in. To my surprse there was a blood trail but you had to be directly over it becasue the hot blood fell right though all the snow ans was resting on the leaves and rye under it. The snow surface had no sign of blood on it.
  16. I had never hear of it on State land until this thread.
  17. LOL....That isn't hunting....LOL Special Hunting Regulations for Stewart State Forest: (Adapted from 6 NYCRR §190.34, Fall 2008) No person shall possess or discharge a rifle or handgun on the property, with the exception of .22 caliber rimfire handguns. (Muzzleloading firearms are not defined as rifles and may be used during the Regular Big Game and Muzzleloading hunting seasons.) Camping is by permit only and limited to designated sites. The permit must be obtained prior to set-up. Camping is prohibited from the first day of the early bowhunting season in the Southern Zone to the last day of the late muzzleloading and bowhunting season in the Southern Zone. No person shall kindle, build, maintain or use a fire except by permit from the Department. No person shall operate a motor vehicle on the property, except: persons possessing a permit for such use from the Department, or licensed hunters and trappers entering the area between one hour before sunrise and one hour after sunset for the purpose of hunting or trapping from October 1 to December 31, except when unsafe conditions prohibit such access; or adults accompanying youth pheasant hunters participating in the statewide youth pheasant hunt. [*]From October 1 to December 31: Any person hunting must park their motor vehicle in a designated parking area. (The parking quota for all designated hunter parking areas is one (1) vehicle. Designated hunter parking areas are numbered on the Hunting Map (reverse side) and are marked in the field with orange signs and number discs.) Hunters shall hunt only on the same side of the road as their vehicles are parked. Crossing of roads while hunting is prohibited. No person shall hunt or trespass in areas posted as restricted areas, except as permitted by the Department. (These areas are reserved for hunters with disabilities who have been issued a "Non-Ambulatory Hunter Permit.") [*]No person shall enter Stewart State Forest during the Regular Hunting Season for deer as provided by Environmental Conservation Law section 11-0907, except for licensed hunters and trappers for the purpose of hunting or trapping or by permit from the Department. [*]No person shall enter Stewart State Forest during the first two days of the Regular Hunting Season for deer without obtaining a reservation from the Department prior to entrance
  18. Well that is becasue they have to kep you City guys in check...lol. Those are very much the exception rather than the rule for State lands.
  19. Mostly apples and oranges. Some modern Inlines use 209 shotgun primers., rifles and pistols are totally differnt from them. powder is totally different. cases is pretty self explanitory and most muzzleloaders shoot 50 cal or a 45 caliber saboted round and there really isn't much of a call for those sizes in rifle and pistol reloading. Gander, Dicks, walmart and even the reloading supply stores like talked about above carry stuff to Muzzleoader hunt.
  20. Where have you seen state lands that don't allow hiking during hunting season?
  21. you can make the same size or larger bulet go faster . It doesn't have to be a smaller bullet
  22. That is my preference. Other than CCI primers on occassion (which is a manufatrurer problem) they have always had what I was looking for.
  23. I bet the increase in reloading pupularity has cut into their ammo sales. No reloading rimfires. To me it seems like a limited market for a new caliber. Will be interested in seeing it.
  24. I am damn near 100% sure there are plots of State public land with no hunting as well.
