They are antlerless so how would they fall under antler restrictions?...lol An antlered Doe must have 3 on a side in those areas.

The bladder is pretty thin membrane. Sure seems like you could get it to rupture by tugging like that if it was full.
-
They used to have one up North int he 90's for the largest Coyote of the season. I think it was like a new pick up if you got the first one over 60# or something. I recall they didn't really think that milestone in size was going to happen and then it did 2 years in a row. I think they quit it after that. So I think contests are fine. I have seen squirrel round ups each year too.

I have never had any luck doing that on a buck. Have you?

I is amazing how many folks either don't know or donn't care about taking the bladder out. I have done what Meatmuzzy said or if the pelvis is big enough just grab it and trim it out like cutting the knot off a water balloon and keeping the water in it. If anyone here doesn't know it is in the pocket int he pelvis and the intestines run out just above it. In Lawdwaz's pick the deer is hanging head down and you see both hind quarter hams on either side of it. the tail would be in the top center of the pic.

NY...He is from Chicago. He could have a steamer trunk full of them with the numbers taken off...lol. I am betting he couldn't hit the side of a barn if he was standing inside of it. -
Doc...couple that with how difficult it can be to identify a landmark near the shot. Had two brand new hunters hunting with me this year and I gave them both to instructioins (beyond the normal safety reminders) when they shot they were to stay in ther stand locations until i got there. I told them I was goiong to ask two questions. Where was the deer when you shot and where was the last place you saw the deer. Both guys took deer at camp and both make great shots. THey did jsut as asked and were able to put me on the spot of the shot. On had no hair and no blod at all and one had about a dozen hairs. Both were hit with a rifle and both hit at least some heart and out off side shoulder. Neither went off their feet. Both guys were able to out me within 10-15 feet of where they last saw the deer and I was able to follw tracks with them until we found blood. One went about 50 yards and the other probably went 100 yards. Neither one of those guy could believe the blood trail once the deer started to bleed and they were surprised the deer could take that hit and still go. It can be dificult by yourself to identify those areas and walk to them. It looks so different once you are moving.

Wow ...never missed a deer. That is some record. Not many can say that.

3 The 223 was factory since I dind't have the dies yet but he 308 were hand loads. I hae 223 dies now. I don't see how movement laterally would eccect the accuracy since as WNY said the scope is attached to the barrel . That barrel should be able to be switched between frames and have no change in POI. torque against eh back of the casing would really need a loose pin to accomplish any movement but once the action is locked and can't see any movement in an action of the Encores.

Switched bullets.. I think i like em

It wouldn't die from a graze in 15 yards. ...odd. -
I have been hunting with one for 5 years so I really don't care what a guy selling modifications has to say about it...lol. I can tell you that at 200 yards off the bench. I can put them in a hardball every time. That doesn't need correcting. And that same frame and hinge pin also does multiple duty in my 308 win pistona nd that will put 5 shot groups in a quarter at 100 yards. and the 223 bull barrel rifle on the same unmodified frame, is sub MOA

That is not always true.

I thik a lot of the unrecovered animals result from the lack of proper tracking skills. The years that we have no snow seem to contribute to this in my view. I have seen deer that are hit very well go 50-100 yards with little or no blood. You then may have to resort to tracking to follow up and in an area of heavy deer sign you can lose the tracks befor eyou find the blood. I get a little upset sometimes at how quickly some hunters give up on a follow up. It si so easy to say it was a miss if they don't go in a heap. Years with snow I see this less.

When you are teaching the lessons be sure to include the one about not jumping to conclusions based on no facts.
