It is all hype and BS. They know the term assault weapon or assault rifle will stir up the anti gun crowd and now with the latest they hope to have the fence sitters fall in line. Lats face it. In 2011 there were 12,664 Homicides as reported. Of those 68% (8,611 approx) were firearms related. In the 8,611, 323 have been attributed to rifles and that isn't assault rifles, that is ALL rifles. So by all means keep beating your chests and proclaiming what a better world we would have if only the eveil assault rifles were off the streets. -
I agree. But the gap between what I may come across as a threat in my life may have just gotten wider. Face it as you said if our military becomes a threat we don't stand a chance. But there is a very real possibllity I could run into a threat that restrictions could make me undergunned. Our decission how to best protect our families is being taken out of our hands.

So you are just against it? Even given an opportunity to discuss what would be acceptable to you and all you get is NRA this and PRO GUN that.? Really Steve? -

I edited it. I would have to see the restriction. I am not aooppsed to a National Carry/firearms card and If done promptly the background check I went through for my pistol permit was not oppressive -

Why different? If we are trying to smplify what would have to happen? SO now that suggestion is good but not good all the times? -

Steve. If you throw in pistols on that card and that it also allows CC nationwide, I would buy that. -

Elmo...all you need is the ability to watch videos, search on the internet and it really isn't rocket science. It can be as simple as mixing household chemicals and locking a door. -
Steve, We will never agree on this. If they have support then there is an avenue to change the Constitution the proper way. Have at it and put it to rest once and for all. If they can't then they should address the real issues. The pu$$ification of the US that is raising these immoral self indulgent animals.

For a pistol permit the interviewed my references and then called my wife. Questions like "Do you mind having a pistol in the house" "Are there other firearms inthe house" and questions sbout kids in the house and how i keep my firearms. They questioned her more than the references. No imagine an inprocess or recent Ex where the divoce didn't go as they had planned. You are screwed.

They are free to conduct business as they see fit. I am free to spend my money with retailers that share my views. I won't choose to spend it there. There is no contradiction in that. -

Steve. The military weapon argument is kind of tired. The majority of our hunting guns came from military developments. Revolvers- military. lever actions- Military. Bolt guns- were military developed. Semi Auto loaders. yup you guess it. Military again. Let's not use that as a basis for this discussion. Everyone is hung up on 30 round Mags. In those tight and UNARMED quarters a shotgun would be much deadlier. If our evaluation level is weapon capacity take a semi auto shotgun with a tube extender to 8 shot capacity and load it with F shot which is .22 caliber and a count of 39. That is equivelent to over 8 .....30 round mags. (there is a speed difference but at class room distances dead is dead) It is nuts to give an inch based on emotion and not fight this puish that is coming. If the hunting and target community spit from "other" gun owners it is only time. If you think otherwise you are mistaken. Side step the 2nd once and they will do it again because if you pulled every assault rifle off the street...I mean everyone and even every pistol, This will not stop. It isn't the root of the problem , The guns never have been, but those that want them gone are the problem becasue they are the same ones that feel you can't disciplinge you kids....can't hold people accountable. can't lock people up and leave them there, can't FRY them

Teacher vs Student Debate, Fun times

My grammar and spelling is PERFECT!!!! It is my typing that sucks..lol -
Yeah, we wont ban them becasue that would be unconstitutional. We will just make them so difficult to get and keep that no one will want to jump through all the hoops. Oh and lets make it very expensive to own so the average Joe can't afford them. But we won't ban them. As long as they aren't banned I feel much better...lol

This is his quote fromt he 2012 townhall debate “My belief is that, (A), we have to enforce the laws we’ve already got, make sure that we’re keeping guns out of the hands of criminals, those who are mentally ill. We’ve done a much better job in terms of background checks, but we’ve got more to do when it comes to enforcement. “But I also share your belief that weapons that were designed for soldiers in war theaters don’t belong on our streets. And so what I’m trying to do is to get a broader conversation about how do we reduce the violence generally. Part of it is seeing if we can get an assault weapons ban reintroduced. But part of it is also looking at other sources of the violence. Because frankly, in my home town of Chicago, there’s an awful lot of violence and they’re not using AK-47s. They’re using cheap hand guns.”

What I really think we should be grouping together to ban is Teachers. A teacher gave birth to this evil...raised this evil and did little to prevent him from committing this crime. All accounts she knew he had issues. She is the one that purchased the guns and left them in a way that he was able to take possession. Apparently teachers are at the root of this problem.
