  1. Agreed ...do whjat they wish but they reap the benefits of that policy in lost revenue.
  2. I can understand the draw to carry a pistol and a rifle during ML season. Kind of like carrying a long gun and a pistol durin regular season. Not a confidence thing but would be neat to take one at closer range if it happened along.
  3. https://www.autozone.com/autozone/contactus/generalComments.jsp?landingPageCategory=inOurStores&title=generalcomments
  4. I also went to Autozone.com and gave them a little comment .
  5. Maybe not but forty some posts in and you sound like a dink.
  6. I bet it will cost you $150- $175 an hour, Operated if you find a local guy for a Dozer of the size you mentioned. I would expect he would be able to do that in a week easy. We look for a D^ to grub 3/4 acre an hour. I would have them qoute it as a lump sum though not hourly.
  7. They make them that go on a large Loader (Google Hydroaxe) that I have seen 6" diameter trees fall prey to. . At 20 acres you really need to knock off the growth above before you go for the root mass or you will have a mountain of debris to contend with. If you can get a quotes from clearing firms the best way I believe would be to hydroaxe it down and the root rake the area. This removes most of your root mass to where it can be plowed and the chips from teh axing get incorporated into the soil to enrich it.
  8. My suggestion would be if you are't going to plant it maybe a brush hog and then remove the selective larger trees. If you are going to plant it I wouldn't use a dozer. You will loos too much of your valuable topsoil. I would find someon with a dozer with a root rake. (like a big comb) . How much land are you talking about?
  9. Must be on your permit if you posess the means to fire them.
  10. you can carry two and you can carry a black powder pistol and a black powder rifle as long as the pistol and rifle are ONLY single shots....no black powder revolvers.
  11. Very nicely done. That was the right thing to do. Enjoy the venison.
  12. Only one reason I can think of.....to buy more guns
  13. same ones from the same site is where I got mine. ...lol 270 Winchester http://www.midwayusa.com/product/279271/lee-deluxe-3-die-set-270-winchester http://www.midwayusa.com/product/735849/lee-factory-crimp-die-270-winchester?cm_vc=sugv1 30-06 Sprg http://www.midwayusa.com/product/257541/lee-deluxe-3-die-set-30-06-springfield http://www.midwayusa.com/product/143214/lee-factory-crimp-die-30-06-springfield?cm_vc=sugv1 If you are going to trim cases, which you likely will. you will need the trimming guage for each caliber . this trims your end perfectly to length and perpendicular to the axis of the case. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/459337/lee-case-length-gage-and-shellholder-30-06-springfield?cm_vc=sugv1 http://www.midwayusa.com/product/271467/lee-case-length-gage-and-shellholder-308-winchester?cm_vc=OBv1 http://www.midwayusa.com/product/930066/lee-case-length-gage-and-shellholder-270-winchester?cm_vc=sugv1 Pretty good video...give you an idea of it. It goes much faster when you are doin it.
  14. Hubbyhunts. ...depending on the area you can basically shoot and unlimited number of deer. Some areas like 8C as long as you don't shoot a buck they will keep giving you bonus tags. this year without any bonus tags i had 1- either sex Bow/ muzzleloader 1 Antlerless only Bow /Muzzleloader 1- Regular season antlered tag 2 "Doe permits" from the first draw 2 "doe permits" from the second draw 2 "doe permits" signed over to me throught he means detailsed by DEC 2 DMAP "Nusance" type antlerless tags fromteh property I lease. that is 11 legal deer without taking benefit of any bonus areas.
  15. Unfortunately I think you are right. I have been involved in 3 tracking trips (luckily we found all three0 that on good gun shots didn't have a noticable blood trail for over 50 yards. followig scuff marks in the leaves and they we got good blood on all 3. Sometimes I think they may be written of as a clean miss to quickly. Shame to see these two bucks go this way or any animal for that matter.
  16. http://www.midwayusa...-308-winchester http://www.midwayusa...ter?cm_vc=sugv1 I like the Deluxe Die sets. it give you both full length sizing die and neck sizing die. Then buy the factory crimp seperate. It is a little more expensive but really gives you flexibility. THe factory crimp is a must in my book and gives better consistency. I neck size for my Encore and Bolt actions....I would expect if you were loading for ONLY one Pump you could neck size as well. I full length size for my Father's auto loader and it seems to feed better that way. I also full length size any used brass I am given or pick up the first time just to make sure it is at spec to start. If yoou aren't going to neck size and are only going to full length size you can save money on the dies http://www.midwayusa...-308-winchester Same as above but without the neck sizing die. (your bolt guns will be more accurate with neck sizing but once fired the ammo is NOT interchangable between 2 bolt rifles until it is full length sized again. It is fire formed to the specific chamber of a single rifle and more accurate. (Or so the story goes) Get a 4 hole turret for each die set and you are ready to go. so that means about $55 a caliber for die set up. On the bullets....go with what has worked for you but I have had great luck with the Sierra Game kings for the 30 caliber bullets in my 308 and 30-06...out of bolt and Encore. the tips get buggered up a bit in the feed ramps of the auto loaders though. I load Nosler Ballistic tips in those. (twice the price of the gamekings)
  17. It is. What do you plan on reloading and for what guns?
  18. Well that could be one take on this...or. that is what happens when you take head shots......or that is what happense when you shoot farther than your capabilities....or that is what happens when the bullet hits a limb you don't see....or....or....or.
  19. the instructions in the manual are very good as well. step by step using Lee products and discuss the theory behind the "Whys"
  20. .pdf'>http://www.nycourts.gov/cji/2-PenalLaw/265/265-03(1)(.pdf I thik this clears it up a bit. It appears this is specifically refering to handguns.
  21. I know....but it is viewed much differently down there than other places BECASE it is NYC and their local laws. § 265.03 Criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. A person is guilty of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree when: (1) with intent to use the same unlawfully against another, such person: (a) possesses a machine-gun; or ( possesses a loaded firearm; or © possesses a disguised gun; or (2) such person possesses five or more firearms; or (3) such person possesses any loaded firearm. Such possession shall not, except as provided in subdivision one or seven of section 265.02 of this article, constitute a violation of this subdivision if such possession takes place in such person's home or place of business. Criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree is a class C felony. Section: Previous Now that is the section used in the case you cited. No definition of "loaded" is in that statute.
