    why dance around this. If the brass ring is so easily reached and the benefits so great. Ban all bone hunting for 3 years then make the buck tags on a lottery draw like some of the western states do with their elk. get in an 'any buck' or 'trophy buck' draw. If the importance of this to the herd is so great hunting should take second seat. If you don't draw...shot does...if you cant hunt in an area with permits, stay home.

    I agree. Where I hunt up North you probably woulnd't see that many either. I was speaking more to the fact it was called a BS claim. 20 is very doable in many areas of the state.

    THe escorting hunters will be in the woods with us either in this season (escorting) or in the regular season (hunting) I am not concerned. I think the young hunters may take a more serious view of things such as safety since there may have been less time since their safety course. When I hunt that weekend I will wear orange to and from my stand and place my vest around my tree.

    If there is more competition between bucks that usually include some pretty intense physical combat. Has anyone ever seen any study on these effects going into winters and survival rates?

    And the populeation should dictate the number of doe permits. It is just going to make a few very frustrating years for some of the folks in those areas.

    I feel for the hunters in the AR area that have very limited access to doe permits. We get a little spoiled out here with very good odds at drawing two or even more. Best of luck.

    the description is so many days starting from October 1st....they do not list a broken/split season for an adult bowhunter.

    LOL, Biz. I bet my daughter would have loved for me to grab one of those for her. I mean I love her...but not that much For her first ride I think this is just fine. A buddy has one and it is an animal in the snow. If it weren't for the clearance.....Maybe a jacked up Beemer for a hunting ride.

    Well this is going to move up my practice schedule...Love it.

    Well I picked up a vehicle for her last Friday. Got a great deal on it. She got home from Europe yesterday and I surprised her with it. DOes your heart good to see a good kid so happy. I ened up with a Subaru Forester. Love the AWD and is is higher than a car but not as high as a mini SUV. handles good. Only downfall is the milage is a bit low for a 4 cyl but that is expected turing all the wheels. Thanks for the input. I am glad I ddin't do te Liberty
