THey are great. and the Eyes and Tiger Muskies are a bonus.

You ever make a run out into the old Mohawk river sections? not the canal but in the river itself?
-
ANd I don't know if it is all in my head but I really think if you took a lake and stream/river smallie of equal size and hooked them tail to tail the stream/river one would tow the other around. They just seem to fight better.

maybe they are holding off and can get the October 1 this year. Would save me traveling up north to hunt if they did.

Off DEC Site- "A convenient summary of all the 2012-13 Hunting Seasons will be available for printing or dowload later this summer." aren't they usually out by now?

I have bought quite a bit of stuff from there. I have had good luck with their Guige Gear line except for the rubber pack boots. They deteriorate quickly and I tried twice but couldn't get a full season out of them without cracking.

Same here. I love fish....especially trout but am the only one in the house to eat it so freezing is on my mind too. I really don't freeze many anymore unless it is small trout frozen in blocks of ice. Probably all in my head...lol. When I used to do a lot of finger lake fishing I wouud freeze the rainbows and browns though because there was more than one meal there. never kept lakers so i bet you are right on the money with your take.

Sounds like they need a slot limit for a while to pull out the smaller fish. too often by the time overpopulation of predators in lakes isn't handled until a major crash.

Anyone switch back to smooth bore

The Remington Corelokt can be from 22 up to 25. That is why I have been woking up reloads for them. I have been a little side tracked the last few months but will back at development in a few weeks. Was getting a 6" group at 100yards. Not what I want and the sabots seem to be hanging with the bullets too long. Using the Remington Corelokt bullets I can reload for about $7 a box of 5...all new components. -
Heard most of these as well. and have many many a non family forum version. Useless as screen doors on a submarine nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of riocking chairs (hard raining) Raining like a cow pi$$ing on a flat rock

Carrying extra rounds in the field?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Rickshaw's topic in General Hunting
I use the buttstock elastic holders as well. If they get stretched I just get a new one. when rifle hunting with -06 I have 4+1 in gun and 9 on the stock . In my fanny pack is a full box (just in case) For deer with my 1187 I don't go afiled with less than 20 ML--1 loaded , 5 speed loaders and components for another 5. I have been on some long tracking trips and would rather have them and not need them than need them and not have them. -
The free market is the only sustainable model. lets look at the crock that just came through in this health care law. It wasn't the big old bad CEO's that were the focus of this evil d'jour it was the insurance companies that were making absurd profits at the expense of the little guys. So in steps the Govt to make it all better. If they really had the inclination to make it better and fix what the insurance companies were doing why didn't they just start govt insurance as a seperate organization. offer insurance and present a product at what they feel is a resonable cost. If it was that great people would flock there and that would force the competing insurance company rates down. but they didn't becasue it isn't about insurance. It is about redistribution....providing something for nothing. If the govt could operate an organization at a break even it would be great, but they can't . Hell to post office can't do it and they had a monoploy on it for years.. Private companies should naot have manadated wages for their exec's. The govt should have nothing to say about it. The govt should also lat private companies fail with no bail outs. if the service is truely needed the void will be filled by a new company providing the service at a profit. if it doesn't it wan'st needed. fat , lazy and unproductive should not be rewared or financed and that is on a corporate or personal level.

A terrible 4th of July tragedy
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Big Indian's topic in General Chit Chat
I thought they did. Huh. Well even if you aren't 'required' to have one I woulod not take out a boat without enough for everyone. Very sad situation. Edit---I read are as aren't... -
that is great. I have fished it where it dumps into the mohawk/canal, but never ventured up it too far.

I don't think anyone really has one Doc...and that is the problem. I can't help but thisnk though that most of the problem is the mixing of private combined with the Govt's fingers in things. That mix never seems to work. I am a firm believer that the market for any product will seek it's own lowest possible level if the Govt's manipulating fingers are kept out of it. Regulations for out of area insurance and crap like that, I believe keeps commpetition limited and prices higher. EPA?? FDA??? pick your flavor of alphabet soup. Over sight is one thing but their fingers are in there again. True competition would keep the cost down but that isn't going to be allowed to happen.
