Nice surprise on the cam
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Culvercreek hunt club's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
Gonna be really tough to stay out of there for my self imposed 2 week time period between camera checks. -
Have you shot the buck you got a trailcam pic of?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to njg0621's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
I am awefuly sure I got the one I harvested on camera -

It looks it to me as well. I realllllly wish it was more clear. It almost looks like there are palmations on it ...especially his right side. Does look like he is carrying some great mass though. -

LOL...I have it narrowed down to 3 possibilities so far. All three have the capability to get me in hot water with the Mrs. because they will be mounted. The other two I got with my camera but at the distance I stayed to not spook them...they are grainy -
I wish this guy had walked though the area where I had the good trail cam set up. The trail he used is typically used by the does and faws on their way out to the soybean field. I rally wish the quality was better so I could get a really good look at this rack. My one budy that hunts with me acused me of photoshoppin it...lol

Which allowed the taking of a doe in areas where few/none should be shot. I am in agreement in the need for this. I am more concerned with the implimentation. I was just explaining the concern I am hearing from many friends
-
She could...but chances are there will be one less........will be missing the guaranteed antlerless. The special licenses were the only guaranteed antlerless for many low percentage area hunters.

How many deer does your family consume per year?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to First-light's topic in Deer Hunting
I go through two ourselves. I have three friends that can or do not hunt any more that will each take one. Any more than that and they get donated. -
But we gotta try....it is all we have as an option

Hey Doc, I don't believe they outlined exactly how they would be implementing the plan. the nust and bolts...how manys and whens.....were not printed....for anything they set in the plan. I think the details would need to be established. I think this is a perfect opportunity for us as a group to get in their ear. if they are changing the system and the finer points are not cast in stone....let them hear us rather than saying "oh damn they didn't do it like we wanted" I am already drafting my letters. let's face it. with license sales only a couple weeks away we have at least a year to get our opinions out there
-
If you get sportsman and bow you get buck and an either sex......if you buy sportsman and ml....you get buck and either sex......go buy the bow with it or after.......you get an antlerless only
-
might be I will be looking at that. I may buy a sportsman and a bow and then the ML IF I need it. If I tag out by then...why bother.
-
I read it and didn't see it. I think that was by design. I believe you will be getting one regular season buck tag and one buck tag valid for the special permits you buy....."Thank you very much for your donation" If I didn't hunt up in NZ in the early ML I would have to look at not buying the ML tag until I saw how I did during the SZ bow season. I think we will only be getting 2 tags with the super sportsman

hunting land
Culvercreek hunt club replied to agreen9092's topic in Land For Sale, Lease, and Requests
not sure where you are but I lease from these guys. http://www.cottonhanlon.com/leasing.html -
As long as we are rearranging the whole system....wouldn't it make more sense to move the valid license dates? Why have the new license year on October 1st. Heck...make it June or July to coincide with the federal duck stamps....lol. then I don't have to carry multiple pieces of paper while duck hunting. It would give plenty of time to evaluate last years take....set quotas.....and issue licenses and have a second Doe Permit drawing....all in time for the NZ bow opener.

I understand Doc. That is where I am at as well. I almost would have no compasion for the landowner that took the money and had something happen to their land. After all they should have evaluated that into their agreed pricing. The ones I feel sorry for are the neighbors of the owners that entered into an agreement and received no compansation for the liability they face....or worse the possibleruining of their property. Then I feel a buit hypocritical when I comment that the other areas of the country should be opened to oil drilling. Alaska...Gulf Coast....Pacific Coast. I wan't us to be able to tap our oil reserves.....but you know ...I don't live there. I don't think I would want someone in Texas telling me I should let a drill rig in my back yard.....ot out in the middle of Lake Ontario.... I am very conflicted on this whole debate. I also am not buying that is is such a risky endevor that is just plagued with evil....Or that it is super de dup-er safe. I am sure the truth and posibilities are , as usual, somewhere in the middle.

probably not going to make me very popular but oI believe one of the biggest causes of the small game downfall is the predetors......and I am not talking about Yotes or Fox. I am talking birds of prey. Drive down the thruway by Montezuma and see a hawk on every other right-of-way fence post. how much small game do you think a line up like that could take out of an area?

Culvercreek hunt club replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in DIY - Do It Yourself, tutorials and videos
make sure you check it. are the 2 6volts in series or parallel. make sure it is 6 volt or 12 volt beofre you hook it up . I have seen both voltages -
I have been on projects where they paid us to dig this up with the soil and send to an incinerator to sterilize the soil. they take this approack on a few types of invasive plants.
-
Looks great. Kind of took me by surprise. When I saw the first pics I thought you were having a walkout from the basement....with all the dirt excavated it seemed you were doing that.
-
And yet another example of why New York sucks. This is not required in most counties and should not be required for you. Yet another way for them to get around the 2nd Ammendment

Well I can tell you two things.... your immunity can change at any time., for the better or worse. If you are ver allergic to it ....do NOT burn it under any circumstances

I haven't yet...was thinking about it but the five year plan has scared me off
