  1. Not too worried about a warranty....when it craps out....It will be stainless scrap and I will still be money ahead...lol
  2. You tossing that out as an open challenge on here Joe?...lol NY, fair chase, 190 typical, for your annual salary?
  3. Well the bad news is they are totally out of stock and will be until the end of the year. I think because the price was marked wrong.....The good news is they refunded my money and told me to dispose as I saw fit......Which means it was disassembled over the weekend and is all straightened and rewelded...and running like a top. It doesn't get much better than FREE...
  4. "and the one thing that has always stuck with me is the lack of knowledge about whitetail deer that the majority of those hunters have" Why would this surprise you Joe? Apply this to any aspect of our lives and we run into folks that either do not understand.....don't put forth the effort to understand....or (in all honesty) are incapable of understanding....XXX...you pick the topic...lol. It could be politics...whitetail biology....traffic laws...or any number of everyday scenarios.
  5. LOL....or as hunters we just have had to reevaluate our priorities
  6. The cabin is basiocally finished except for inside trim and flooring. The pavilion took up out time this year, along with new trail clearing. It is a mile off the hard road and off the grid.....And it is peaceful
  7. Wow....wonderful mounts. Thanks for giving us a glimpse. He has just about everything in the US covered there.
  8. I am jonesing for a good long distance lens...lol. I have seen 3 big racks through the spotting scope but at that distance they are nothing but a ball of fuzz in the camera. The wide one is an odd duck. almost looks like one with no inward curl on the main beams. not much for tine length though.
  9. The one I built my father. I just got rubber roofing to put on it and the windows to go in it.(got to keep the propane heat in...lol) We have fabricated 2 other box blinds that we will be setting up at cam on the weekend of the 17-18th. We panelized them so they will travel well and set up easily. 4'x4' platforms. I will post pics when they are up.
  10. Actually any member is open to add their opinion on any topic...moderator or not. Don't take a burn, Taxidermy is an art and just like any other form of art it will appeal to some and not to others. No artwork will be unversally accepted and praised. Picasso doesnt really do it for me...I don't like them.
  11. Once the backstraps and tenderloins come out of the first two we get.....It will be getting a workout....at least it's replacement will...lol. 500 pounds and hour.....got any enemies you want to go Fargo on?
  12. It wieghs 68 pounds...lol. Must be they didin't eat their Wheaties. believe it or not I got it for 200 bucks....new... The one good thing is I bought it through Amazon....replacemnt is guaranteed. THe shpping was steep but all together is was $268. A 3/4 horse else where was 399. The reviews on it were great...but it isn't American made....Those were over 600 for comparable specs...and I got a 20# sausage mixer for $60...all stainless.
  13. Modifications courtesy of the great guys at Federal Express...grrrrrrr   Now the whole freaking claim process.
  14. Few pics I took over the last month, on 8-2 there were 14 different bucks in the two fields. Last night there was only 2 but the one had already rubbed his rack clean. Sorry they are fuzzy but that is what a digital zoom does. I didn't want to spook them and try to get closer.
  15. Supposedly......I got an email that said hit by car in Friendship NY
  16. http://www.sutherlandglobal.com I heard they are doing some expansion here in Rochester and will be filling a couple hundred positions. I heard it on the news. I am not sure of pay or position type.
  17. I personally think that if I had to have one outfit it would be a quad parka and a set of bibs. I am going to use the term Gortex, but they have many types of that membrane out now. Waterproof and the ability to layer to fit the conditions using the quad parks. To me bibs are warmer than pants.....keeps that wind off your kidneys and back.
  18. Old artificial Christmas tree branches They work great in build ins and metal stands. the branches bed and you can get them just like you want them. I have been cruising yard sales.....around deer season folks get new ones and sell or chuck their old ones. And you never have to worry about the leaves falling off
  19. Going to be down here shootig tonight at 6pm if anyone is interested
  20. quick question. On the old version you could select to be notified about stopics you were commenting on....and the email notification was only the first respones....this updated site appears to send you email about ALL the responses....I can't find a setting like on the old version.
  21. Gotta agree.....print really looks like a bear track
  22. How cheap are you looking for. A H&R /New Engleand Firearms single shot 12 or 20 can be found on sale for a little over $100......used even less
  23. Are you talking about a target?
  24. Hard to tell just how long his mains are in the head on. As an 8....140
