  1. Ok, all you people that are way smarter than I am. Can someone tell me what the basis behind the Safe Act was? Before you answer, understand that I know it was liberal anti-gun mongrels trying to make it harder to own a gun since the 2nd amendment is a dead end for them. Don't bother ranting on here about those blood suckers, we are on the same page. What I am trying to understand, that nobody that I have asked could answer, is WHAT the main objective was to get it passed through legislation. Simply outing all the legally registered hand gun owners and their weapons was not the moral of the story (that was the the aftermath). Nobody can tell me WHY this needed to be a matter of public record and HOW this makes anyone safer? There has to be a centerpiece to it that would have allowed it to get this far. Even if I don't agree with something (as is this case) i still try and see both sides. Being educated only helps in the fight against something. Does anyone have a deeper understanding of the Act and what the argument is for it?
  2. again, all very interesting. Being somewhat new to bow-hunting, was curious. I could see that with an aluminum arrow, but didn't see that with a carbon arrow. I figured they were either broken or fine, but no in-between (the advantage of using a carbon arrow over aluminum).
  3. can I vote for "none of the above" (Brewsters Millions). I hate polititians!
  4. a drastic shift could be a matter of 100 yards. In hunting world, that is a lot. It also makes a big difference with a camera obviously. It doesn't have to be a mile like hunting in IA where there are thousands of acres. I also said that if you KNOW there are deer in the area via watching them (as he said), then you now they are there. You have to trust your previous years experience in that stand placement. Worst case scenario is you move your stand mid-day during the hunt if you see deer out of shooting range consistently.
  5. I saw that video as well. I have this issue every year. My cameras actually change the deer paterns. I didn't even bother putting them up this year. Regardless if I have a picture or not, my hunting spot is my hunting spot so no point in spooking the deer! Those damn critters need to chill. lol.
  6. I saw somethign similar on FB. Someone posted a message that basically said: If you love animals so much, then why are you eating all their food! lmao. So true.
  7. I agree. Preseason camera pics really mean absolutely nothing other than knowing whats out there. If you already know whats there, then a picture is just a keepsake. The deer paterns change drastically from now, til hardhorn then again for the rut. I put my cameras up in areas I know the deer are at now, just to get pictures, but they are not by where my stand will be in a few weeks! Now, if it were mid-october through mid-November and you had cameras up by where you were hunting and not getting any pictures, then obviously you would have some issues...lol
  8. all very interesting comments. I am surprised at how many of you don't reuse them.
  9. lol, yeah, thats what I do. I was wondering what normal people do though....
  10. Yeah, 100" TOPS. Short main beams, narrow and small 3's all lower his score.

    Clean Up

After you succesfully kill, what do you do with your arrow? Nothing? Just Rinse? Soap? Bleach? Just curious.
  12. I am definitely over stocked on rabbits. Maybe I should reconsinder the AR-15..lol. Good point on the arrows. That is why I was a bit concered with shooting the field points. If they just blow threw and stick in the ground, that can't be good. Hopefully those Jado points stop the arrow pretty good.
  13. rural enough I could shoot them with an AR-15, but what fun would that be? lol The bow will be fun.
  14. Thanks for the comments and suggestions. Was curious. Now I have a plan Its Wabbit Season! Bastards will eat my garden no more.
  15. Thank you! Its hanging on my wall. Killed in Chautauqua County in 2011 with my muzzleloader
  16. Are they weighted the same as other tips so they shoot exactly the same out of your bow? or do you need to adjust your sites to shoot them?
  17. Thats what the description on the Judo head said about the field point. i was more curious if a regular field point is devasting enough for a humane kill of a rabbit, or if it would just laser through it leaving a bloody hole?? Anyone ever shoot a rabbit with a field point?
  18. There are definitely bears creeping northward. I live in Clarence, NY (suburb of Buffalo and definitely north of the thruway) and we had a bear come through our backyard 2 years ago. The DEC tracked it down and shot the stupid thing. Those of you who live in the area probably remember this. There is no season up here, but you probably could claim self defense I suppose. I probably would have crapped msyelf had I been in the woods when it walked by. I also hunt down in Chautauqua county (north side on the Erie county border) and see bears OCCASIONALLY. They ARE in season, but they are hardly around to really "hunt" them.
  19. I need do a bit of rabbit regulation around my property. What do you suggest for small game? Also, is it possible to just use the field tip for a rabbit??
  20. The first one (http://www.target.co...27&term=thermos). This is it! honest to god that thing will keep things hot forever and ever. it is almost stupid how hot it keeps things.
  21. your on crack! lmao. that deer is quite a bit smaller in every aspect from the original debated one. Your deer is definitely under 100.
  22. btw, just go get a piece of string and a tape measure and do the measurments I posted above (inside spread, main beams, G1's, G2's & G'3 and 4 mass measurements on each side starting at the burr and then half way between each tine). You can get a ball park. good luck. nice bucks!!
