Golly. It sure is hotter than a snakes a$$. Nothing moving yet. Even the squirrels are laid back in the shade Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

Suiting up in turkey gear for an afternoon sit. These temps are no fun ! Got a feeling they will move tonight though... Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

Went 5/5 on lake Ontario. 1 king, 4 steelhead. Not a bad way to spend the hot temps !! Fishing rod down, bow back in hand, tomorrow I'll be after some turf to go with the surf Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

Leave that stand up and hang another close by.... There's your in for fooling him. I'm certain he looks at that stand before coming through, especially if it's been there awhile.... if it's empty, you have him fooled... My .02 Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

What a great morning. Back in the rhino blind with a pulled back muscle....between the horrible hot evenings and this back spasm, I have decided this evening will be spent hunting the last of the staging king salmon on LO. Get the boat out one last time and hopefully bend some rods. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

You have to keep in mind as well, with smaller parcels that the big guys can also pattern YOU. They can smell your trail the day after you have been in or out. Sometimes the big guys will lay where your trail is down wind or in plain sight. I had a hot rut stand and wouldn't touch it till it got good. Always checked cam's though. Had a giant I was hunting for 3 years, consistently on camera but never during daylight. I spotted him one time in daylight and new my chances were good. I decided to forsake my trail and walk the roads all the way around ( bout a mile ) and come in from my neighbors side. Did that for 2 all day hunts, except on the second day I had an arrow in a 6.5 year old ! You have to think outside the box. I found out that for years he was fooling me and was bedded right by my stands or close by down wind. The point is this, learn from the site, learn from the woods, but just get out there and give it a shot ! Can't kill him on the couch !! Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

I however, have a blind in the sun.... Not recommended in this heat. Glad I brought water Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

Vegas Shooting

What a shame. Absolutely horrible. Dude was obviously a POS but what the heck is wrong with people !??! We argue about shooting little or big deer, while this whackadoo is out clipping people at a concert. He should be hung. RIP to those that lost their life at the hands of this idiot. Apps are good, but a scent checker doesn't lie. If you could, set 2 stands on the run he uses. Then you can hunt almost any wind. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

Better get on him while he's on the summer pattern. Chances of you seeing/getting him decrease drastically everyday. He may stick around or be in and out for rut but most likely he will vanish. Wind is your first priority. If the wind is wrong, stay home. Good luck !!! Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

I'm also in. Alden/Lancaster/Darien etc. I have a pile of experience but I also have a friend who has recovered hundreds. I've called him many times for advice and he is typically spot on. Tons of knowledge at my fingertips. Also, I have a ranger so forget the 2.5 mile drags !!! PM anytime. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

Watching a different bean field this evening. 22' ladderstand. I love getting high.....! Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

It's always easier for a bystander to tell you to wait! The only downside is you will have no hair, or fingernails left by the time 5 comes around. But trust me, it's never a regret to wait. The temps are a bit high but at least that keeps the Yotes from cruising. When you do find him ( I think you will ) make sure you hustle to clean him out and get him on ice, quartered or not ! Still a bit early. No need to rush. If you do have multiple guys helping, one of them should be dedicated to looking up (for the deer) not down for blood. Everybody should have a bow too, just in case. Go get a coffee and give it another hour or two Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

Love the dog sac. Lol Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

Longer the better. I'd call your local deer search and get their opinion as well. If anything they are a wealth of good intel and can give you better advice than any of us ( typically ). Be prepared for the 20 questions. Where did arrow hit. What kind of broad head. How far of shot. Stand or blind. How high. Broadside, quarter to, or away. Initial reaction of deer. How far to where you bumped him. Blood/arrow smell like gut. Color of blood and amount. Etc.... Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

Count stands at 8 bucks, 5 doe. Ive seen rubbing, fighting, chasing and eating beans. Good day to be in the woods !!! Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

Nah. Suck it up, it's opener !!! Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

Blood looks like gut more than liver. It's opening day. Give him till 3 or 4. Still gives you plenty of time to track in daylight. If your lucky you knicked his liver and will be stiff when you find him. If it's fgut, there's enough blood to see that you hit something important. Let him lay. You will find him at water or within 100yrds of where you bumped him. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

3 bucks. 4 does. One nice buck that's on the hitlist, for next year... Looks like they are establishing dominance basket rack bumped the does around and the 2.5yo and another basket got all grizzled up and ears back at each other. Great to back at it !! Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
