First-light

So as we move into the opening week of bow I set my sights on the second week. My brothers son in law is a trooper and he has off that week. He will be bringing up a Suffolk county cop to see if they can shoot straight! lol I'm coming up Friday morning and going to spend the whole week at the cabin. This is the first time I'll ever spend so much time early season. Beans are everywhere and I hope to get a shot at one of the big boys still on the summer pattern. Because it is so early I'm going to really document here the conditions of the hunt every day. Good luck brothers and sisters!

Was coming up to the cabin on the 7th but changed that to the 4th. Looks like friday and saturday will be nice and cold and so will I!.

Now it's time for all those nice Steuben county bucks to break those racks fighting! I can't tell you how many are screwed up once Nov 1st rolls around.

Been on meds for 4 of 6 weeks. Doc said no alcohol. Found this NA beer which I love! I have tried many NA beers the only ones I like are this and Becks.

Not tonight but for but for the week of the 7th at camp! Venison stew-apples , pears, sweet potato, onion, mushroom, carrots and celery! The other one is Chili! Just cooked them enough and will throw them in the crokpot at camp. Had to get them in the freezer before my two girls ate too much of it!

I get all this. Love your posts and your dogs! So I have been hunting for almost 40 years. I was taught that when you lose blood start a grid search. I have found many deer this way. My question to you is don't you find the majority of hunters start a grid search before calling you? Wouldn't you want them to exhaust all possibilities first then call you? I have never called deer search. I would think if I did the guy would be pissed if the deer was found 50 yards from last blood. There is a great deal of hunters out there and not many that provide your service. Again what you and Luna do is amazing and I thank you for it. Just want to get it straight what not to do if you are going to call in the tracking dog. Thanks, FL

Going up to the cabin the Oct 6th-13th. Most time I'll ever spend early bow. Will be back up for a 3 day weekend early Nov then 1 week prior to gun right through to the tuesday after gun starts.

Bone, can always shoot a doe later on. Then again is I see this doe she is in the cooler! lol

We had seen rubs two weeks ago at camp.

Surgery went well she should be back in 6-8 weeks. Thank you all for the warm wishes! FL

X-ray this morning showed the bone slightly out of place. Doctor said this would be ok if she still had some growth plate left but she doesn't. Surgery tomorrow to insert a plate to align and strengthen the bone. Faster recovery time though!

Thats a great deal. I have them in my Tahoe. They are 12 years old. You wash them and use spray 9 on them they look new!

I don't have to do this but if I did a pulley system would be in place.
