I get great pictures of bucks here in Steuben county but by the time the season rolls around they fight so much most of the nice racks are broken.

I haven't hunted in two weeks. Will be up at the cabin Saturday right through opening weekend........my prediction is I kill a big buck this year....with bow! -

The camp next to mine been there for years. They have pictures from the 90's that you thought how in the world did they harvest these deer. 12 guys each had a nice buck hanging. It was amazing.

Be safe and smart in this wind. Had some trees come down last night. Looked healthy but rotted on the inside wind took them right out. -

So everyone has their own sign of the rut but what actually is the rut? Rubs...don't think so. Scrapes..seen them for a month now. Buck fights getting closer. The rut for me is when the bucks lose their minds and only on thing is on mind is to continue the species. This happens a few days before gun season and continues for a few afterwards. These are the days when you can shoot a buck tailing a doe and have 4 others come right in standing over your dead deer. They can give a crap about scent sound and sign. That is the rut for me.

LOL! My niece got married yesterday. Very swanky wedding in LIC (Long Island City) Old renovated warehouse right on the east river. When you pulled up you were driving into a truck depot! That's me the stud lol with my two daughters. A picture with my mom of 87! The view to the outside through the chuppah! An amazing time last night....today we recover!

Saw this a million times by now. It sucks no way around that Kid and father are jerks. We have a right to hunt in these areas but that being said you are only looking for trouble hunting that spot with such high visibility from the neighborhood families. Hunter handled himself well.
