  1. Yes that tree got hit one year and I put an end to it. Probably this weekend I'll protect the bottom. I'm thinking crab apple also. Thanks!
  2. Berries or apples keep getting bigger every year. Lots of them also.
  3. I'm actually going to game dinner in Howard this Saturday. I'm sure I can get info there. Thanks.
  4. I like that idea. Problem is I have 3 other bows that I have tried to find a young hunter and came up empty. It's a shame.
  5. The DEC gave such lame reasons for doing this. Reducing their carbon footprint. Now all we talk about is plastic bags that will end up in the landfill.
  6. I just ran up to the barn. It's a Bear Whitetail 2. Yes all that stuff weighs a lot but still capable in taking down a deer. Funny there was a box of Eastern arrows with it that were fairly new. He must of just got them before he died. 2018's cut to my length. I shot a few and they did fine. May I take a nice buck this year with one of his arrows. He hunted 4O and 3 J. Pretty close to where I first started out in 4P.
  7. At my brothers 60 th birthday party my niece walks in with the two bow cases and tackle box. She says uncle Jeff and Burt you have to look at this stuff. Her neighbor was moving and had all of her deceased husbands bow stuff in the shed. My niece said her two uncles would love it so here we are. A tackle box full of all types of things. Two bows a Golden Eagle and a Bear compound. Back in the day the Golden Eagles were the bow to shoot. I just may hang them in the Barn as a tribute to a fellow Bow Hunter. His last license was in 2003-04. Cool stuff, jump in if you have any suggestions or knowledge of the bows. Also some wicked broadheads!
  8. Turned a corner yesterday afternoon in my Hay field on my quad. Came face to face with a bear at about 30 yards. Took 5 seconds for him to run. It was pretty cool. Looked to be about 125-150 lbs.
  9. Just make sure your name is on the deer when going to the processor. You know how that works.
  10. I'm going to say something and take it or leave it I think it pertains to what 4seasons is saying. I have been here since the beginning this site developed nicely. Things happened and people got crossed. So they left and now we have this place to ourselves and manage to be pretty civil and stay on topic. There is a wide range of topics in the Forums. Pretty much a place to post about anything. This maybe a personal thing but I don't like when a topic like "what's for dinner tonight" has some one posting all their meals at high end restaurants. I think a topic like that should relate to some type of game dinner. I really don't care if you ordered a 3 lbs lobsta (lol) in a fancy place. Show me the roast you smoked for 10 hrs! I'm using this as an example and you might think its petty. I guess in the end a Forum like this has to be open ended. You will get all types and have to deal with them. Like Doc said just don't respond or overlook it. Cranking down on it will shut people out. (yeah I know no new members). BTW heard Biz broke his leg mowing his lawn. He always ate at these fancy restaurants thought he would have lawn service! lol
  11. I think most that left were on here daily. Sure it's nice to not have the useless banter but the fact is this site lost a huge amount of members. That is not good and with no new memberships it's a recipe for disaster. Enjoy it while it lasts.
  12. I just moved 2 Cannon safes each over 500lbs. We used the tractor with heavy duty straps and got them onto a small Dolly. My buddy said it would hold twice the size. I was amazed.
  13. Funny I got the email from Tractor supply this week. Had a safe 335 marked down to 299 then in store special $99. Had 5 in bath ny. I went in and asked about the deal and was turned down. Said it was a corporate mistake.
  14. Have a two family rental in Corning. What a great town. My Sister in law is the President of the Gaffer district. I just dated a woman for nine moths who has history there, They were the Thomas family. Owned some businesses and land in the area. Good to hear from you!
  15. He could be paid up for a few more years and then it will go away. The site can run itself, that is until the money is gone then up for sale.
  16. I lived it and lost some neighbors. I was off that day but had to report to Time magazine early the next morning. There were fighter jets over the house protecting our airspace it was surreal. We managed to print a magazine and have it delivered to NYC in 24 hrs. I never want to do this again. I had to stay in Manhattan for a few days. Bomb scares all the time and the smoke from Downtown was bad. Something that will always stay with me is the kindness that every person showed toward each other. In our darkest hours we will shine. That was amazing. I can remember coming home to the Huntington train station. My car was parked there for a few days. I was put up in a hotel for that time. There was this guy with a clip board and came up to me. He asked is this your car and I said yes. He replied thanks i can take you off the list of people not coming home. Enough said and I went home to my wife and kids.
  17. We all lose interest in things. It happens. I don't know why John doesn't poke his head in here time to time but he has treated me really well. A lot jumped ship just thinking this was going to shut down. It's alive and well and really I go to the other site and it's a mirror of this one. Nice to chat with the guys but I'm fine plugging away right here. This website has come a long way. Fast Eddie knows, black screen with white or yellow type can't remember. Let's just play it out and if one day it ends, it ends. But for now I think we are in for a great deer season. We have done this twice in 15 years. Bucks on the pole before noon! Hope this year is the same!
  18. Yeah I have pictures of the site. Someone F-ing with us. I'll take care of it.
  19. So I did my rounds at the six camera's we have out. The one closest to the road had a few ears of corn thrown out in front of the camera. They were broken in half husk off of them. My corn field is on the other side of the road about 100 yards away. Animal didn't do it because the break was clean. The prior lease guys were not happy when we took over. That is my only suspect but its been over a year now. Thoughts???
