  1. Slightly below Average season but I shorted myself 3 days this year at bow.
  2. What kind of jerk does that. I thought he could get fined for doing that. Sorry for your loss. I know when I hunt I would never shoot a dog unless it was a yote.
  3. That all helps but the one thing that you must have with your children is communication. They have to feel comfortable talking about anything with you. You have to assure them that you will be open and understanding. Being molested at an early age and feeling ashamed or guilty can take a heavy toll on a person. Talk to your kids and keep an open line of communication and then use the Karate chop!
  4. Throughout my days of deer hunting I have taken some nice size buck (antler score). My biggest is a 125 5/8 bow deer. Here is the question-How many bigger bucks have you seen while hunting that you didn't harvest? If I think real hard I believe I have encountered 6 or 7 bigger bucks (over 125 5/8) in 30 years. How about you?
  5. Those boys who were molested will carry that with them the rest of their lives. The hurt and anger inside them will rage, I hope they all seek out professional counseling to help them move on. As for the adults involved they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. It's good that the college fired the President and coach right away. Those students need to get back to their work.
  6. 15 years old, makes you think about a host of other things.
  7. No better way to spread the word! Take someone hunting and give it a chance, great story!
  8. Sully, Keep it up man, your an inspiration. Safe hunting
  9. Doc, If that's the case we will see a huge increase in bowhunters when they allow crossbows in bow season, not. This guy just wants a rise out of us. He is the minority here just stirring up the pot.
  10. Had this happen last year. Small buck pushing around a mother and fawn. One morning here they come and he's chasing them. They pass and not 10 minutes later big daddy is trailing their scent. I missed him and he was a biggen. Keep your guard up when you see them, you never know.
  11. I have two one with bow 125 5/8 1 with gun 111.
  12. I made a comment a week ago that it seemed we had more than our share of wounded deer this year. That by no means should be a reflection on us. Bowhunting is difficult but success can be achieved by practice and knowing your limits. Yes many gun hunters wound deer also so that doesn't fly with me. Honestly 308 you can take it some where else and preach to them.
  13. We talked a lot about him at camp this weekend, we all like him! God bless him for being out there!
  14. Sam, Great video he has everything-hope you get him.
  15. What can I say about this weekend???? Lack of deer for one. The wind just didn't seem right for my property. I saw 2 doe all weekend, Zach saw one and Jeff saw 2 doe and 2 bucks. He actually shot at one of the bucks yesterday afternoon 2:30 it was checking scrapes. He missed, wrong pin at 40 yards. That's it for bow season. Work really cut into the schedule. We will be back up Friday before the opener and staying till Monday night. As we were gatting ready to leave my neighbor called. He shot a small basket 8 in the liver was going to give it the night. As we were talking the coyotes were howling like crazy, hope they don't find his deer.
  16. Hey Eric, I set up some stands right near Brattleborro this year. Vermont sure has some dense woods!
  17. Nice buck, so where did you hit him??
  18. The boys are at it. They seem to perk up when the weather gets cold. lol
  19. Eddiie you have some of that deer? We are up at camp this weekend my brother made a red sauce with venison braciole, made 20 of them can't wait. Good luck this weekend.
