Just got back from camp it was a good weekend. Saturday my brother saw one deer but couldn't make it out, he only has a dmp tag. We brought his friend up and he spooked out a couple walking in at dark, that was it. Sunday morning we saw nothing. My neighbor came over and asked if we wanted to drive his swamp. We jumped on the idea. My brother and his friend were the standers and my neighbor and I pushed. It was only 5 minutes into the drive and here come three deer right at me. The first was real big, I took a bead on her neck at 50 yards and put her down. Then all hell broke loose. Two other deer go flying past me headed towards my brother. start hearing shots 5 in all. 4 big doe ran past him real fast and he unloaded on them but missed. Thinking he may of hit one he had to hold up on two other deer that stopped right under his stand. I give him credit, these two deer headed right back into the drivers and passed my neighbor who didn't shoot. Here is the picture of my doe, 110 lbs. She had one hell of a neck and ass end. Had her made into sweet maple sausage and Italian sausage. It was a nice weekend and my brothers friend saw a couple of doe Sunday afternoon but couldn't get a shot. BTW notice the hat????

Headed up Friday night. My brother is bringing a friend. Hopefully we get a crack at a couple of does and the friend at a buck. My brother and I are tagged out for bucks. Saturday looks to be a real good day, good luck guys!

I was in taxidermist years ago and he had a bunch of hides from yotes and the top was was so cool. The color was yellowish tan and had white in some areas. I look at him and say 'Man this is so soft and cool looking is it a wolf?" He replies "no Golden Retriever!" Yikes, he will do pets for people who want it done. Little creepy for me. The hide was going to an old lady so she could put it at the foot of her bed. Guess thats where the dog slept!

Nice Eddie, keep up the good deeds and at least you know Santa will treat you well! Saturday morning is going to be a great day to hunt-just got this feeling-go get'em.

Sam, You can start a whole other thread on this subject. I can't believe how many stories I heard about using or claiming to use someone else's tag. So many ways around the system, when people do that I call it killing not hunting.

Recent genetic research has found that a doe can give birth to twin fawns from two different bucks. This phenomenon might explain why bucks will breed with a doe even after another buck has already gotten to her. From F/S website

That sucks for you, completely ruined a nice thing your brother did. This summer I was looking for a food plot seed. Asked the guy in the hunting section and he looked at me leaned over and said in a low voice it's illegal and frowned upon in NYS. We don't sell it. I was like WTF and walked out. These people are a bit misinformed.

I thought so, I crested a hill this year doing about 40 and on the other side was a buggie creeping along. Lucky no one got hurt.

Brother in law had two huge rubs made by his stand last saturday night, something still going on.

That is really cool! You can't believe the coyotes over at my place. They start up just as the sun goes down, sounds like a pack 20-30. What did you do with the hide?

Did it once in my early days of hunting. Spine shot a doe and she went down a revine. Got my friend to track her in the dark with me. We left the guns at home and brought a big knife. Found her near the bottom with no power in the back legs. My friend grabbed her ears and I slit the throat. She tried to bite both of us. It wasn't a good scene but she did die quickly after the throat was cut. I felt a whole lot better after she was down and out of her misery.

Real nice buck. To be honest It seems a bit fishy. Some things just don't seem right but I am judging from pictures and a second account of the the story. That is one heck of a deer congrats to the Uncle on taking him. I'm 20% skeptical 80% congratulatory.
