  1. Pat, Add two cans of beer to that mixture and you have a great soup! I hear that's what you Saber fans are having tonight!!! lol
  2. Thanks Wolly, I hit the field first then went to the trails. Looked on the trails that came from a thick bedding area, that's where I found this one!
  3. Wooly, what you be smoken???? Caps 4-1 geez louise! Rangers win the series 4-3!!!!!!
  4. On my drive up I saw two huge deer in the Roscoe area. A bunch more near Binghamton. Didn't see one up by me.
  5. This weekend I checked out my turnip plot. It got hit this winter, half eaten turnips were laying around. All the tops were eaten off.
  6. Took a kid out last year, he turned 16 this year. I have to say there were not many shots at all that weekend. I think these stories get hyped a bit.
  7. Nice Dave, they were gobbling all weekend long by me!
  8. Thanks guys, have to say that the vertical points coming out of the ground caught my eye. I had a great time looking!
  9. Hey, Finally found one. Found it in a hedge row bordering my pines. Followed Wooly's advice and worked the trails!
  10. We are IN AND the Rangers are very close to being OUT. Sabres, are the KINGS of New York. WHAT? We shall see-GO RANGERS!
  11. It was in grassy area, I have seen turkey eggs and these were about the same size but a bit lighter. maybe bleached by the sun? Would this be very early for eggs? When we think about season the Tom's are mating with the hens right now, am I wrong?
  12. Guys, Just got back, camp was in good order. Had to screw in some skirting that came loose but that was it. The new quad is great! Gave it a good work out! I hiked with dog for 3 hours on saturday and found one nice shed. I'll load the pictures once my camera gets over its period!!! Dame thing won't mount as a drive on the computer. Question for you guys, I came across three different clutches of eggs that were broken. They were the size of large chicken eggs white in color. Too early for Turkey??? What do you guys think? I have no idea. The eggs were not destroyed but kind of broken in half. Each clutch had about 5 eggs. I'm baffled. Turkeys were gobbling every morning. Saw a bunch each day, can't wait.
  13. Leaving in an hour. Haven't been there since I closed down the place in late muzzleloader. Going to do some hiking and look for some sheds. I pick up my new Suzuki 400 camo quad today at Arkport cycles! It's been a while since I have had one, kept on borrowing my neighbors when I needed to do some things around camp. Have a great weekend!
  14. Real nice stuff! Nice deer NY T Hunter
  15. and all this debating will be forgotten about..................
  16. I just read the article in outdoor news. This is amazing, 7 years without a contract, no raises. They have down sized and not replaced retiring officers. 292 ECO statewide, more to retire. Well I guess game violations will go up with less man power. it's a sorry state out there, these people at times have to put their lives on the line.
  17. The key board is like sitting behind the steering wheel of you car, it's real easy to curse and flip the other guy the bird. We all should do a better job.
  18. I think you are right G-man. I see a lot of hunters moving to impliments that are more challenging as their hunting matures. If not that many get more selective in the game they take. I have made similiar moves and hung up my shot gun 3 years or so ago for a muzzleloader. I intend on building a flintlock in the future so i can use that. I also want to get back in to a recurve or long bow. It might make a good entry level weapon for some and be a fall back for others in their later careers I see this happening also. It's a great way to try something new. The "challenge" is what keeps me going. Keep raising the bar and it will always be fun!
  19. It amazes me how they come up with their numbers. As a hunter from L.I. you always prepared to stop on Rt.17 for a deer check, then once again at the major bridges. At the deer check stats were taken. Think about all the deer that get transported to L.I. and butchered there. The butcher would have to log all the different areas and information about the deer for the DEC. I just don't see that happening. I could be wrong but in this economy who has the time to do this or the man power.
  20. I'm with ya, the sooner the better, N.Y. needs to get over this.
  21. Nice win by the RANGERS! Never in Ranger-Bruin history have the Rangers come back from being down in the third period! The curse is over 5 goals. LETS Go RANGERS!
