Well I was out from 9 until 2:30 searching. Didn't find. a thing. Unfortunate but it happens. 15,000 steps, ticks on me, briars suck and I'm done. I did my part trying to find it. Hope to see it again in the near future. I'll be ready to hunt in the am. Thanks for all your help!

At this point I agree.

Headed out in a few. I have a planted pine area to check and a swampy bedding area also. The more and more I watch the shot in my mind it hit exactly where I said. I know I must of hit the opposite shoulder because it made a pretty good sound. The angle and distance just says I hit something vital. You guys are right high entrance hole and no exit makes for a tough time. I'll report back when finished, don't know when that will be.

My neighbors and I all get along great. Had to go on one property but called before I went. Gave them the lowdown and I was good to go. They actually called tonight to give me suggestions on where to look. Good stuff.

Joke or why?

Getting way ahead of myself but lets just say I find the deer in the morning. What do you think about the meat? It's low 20's tonight ?

Hey Gang I'm back in. No luck tonight. I didn't even find a spec of blood. Had two people help me out. I'm going back in the morning and try again. Such a shame. I get the entry was high but it should of clipped lungs and he would of blew blood out nose and mouth?

Everyones opinion totally appreciated. I believe I'm under the spine. I'm waiting it out. I will report back this afternoon. Thank you all!

It was nuts today. I shot a real big one giving it time.

This morning was great. Had two bucks come in around 8 and a few doe. About 9 4 doe come running into my swail about 75 yards away. There were 3 bucks chasing. one doe went left all other deer went right. They drifted off and I look up the swail and a huge bodied 8 pt is coming down. He locks onto the doe and trots after her. She heads right for me. Passes about 7-10 yards from stand buck does the same thing. My shot: Slight quarter away, I was 20 feet off the ground, buck was 7-10 yards. Hit him high in shoulder. Found broken arrow. I got 7 inches of penetration. Bright Blood on arrow. Looke for 5 minutes about 20 yards further found nothing. I backed out and will go back early afternoon. Funny thing the buck did was to run off about 50 yards and turned left did a half circle and ran back towards me but 50-60 yards in my brush. Lost sight of him. Would love some input on arrow placement and thought on hitting vitals. Thanks gang, Burt FL

Today in Western NY looks to be a perfect day to hunt. Good luck hope to hear some good stories!

Saw 5 buck and 1 doe today. Three small guys, 1 nice 2.5 8 pt and the second largest deer of this season. The big one was dogging a doe and fighting off attempts of a small 8 pt. It was cool to watch He just didn't give me a shot. I have video of a small buck coming into Golden Estrous then licking my stand. Also have video of the 2.5 8 pt. Enjoy!

Time change, full moon what time do you think it will be shooting light?

My two daughters are coming in Thursday night. I bought Teddi's license and a muzzleloader stamp. Just so she could hunt Friday and Saturday. That crossbow is dead on. We will sit in the same spot she got her first deer 2 years ago. She earned another 3 day pass for being Cadet of the week!

Nice job, could of used you building the barn!

I was told they change color when we get close to snow. I found a dead white on in my shed.
-
I'm sure they will do a lot more in the cooler night temps. But to say it shuts off completely, like some people say is wrong. Buck catches scent of a doe he is investigating. I shouldn't of said they don't care. Looks like we have some good hunting coming up, good luck!

Just needs some grading and stone. Electric hooks up tomorrow. Some recent pictures. I have had that Rooster for 10 years. Its been in a box in my attic. It was from a photo shoot for Money Magazine. I ended up with a lot of cool stuff, now it has a home. I was up on the lift so I thought I would take some picts!

Had two big bucks chasing a doe this morning at 8. It was 60 degrees out. They don't care.

4.5 I think. Good luck, what a challenge!
