Now that I'm up at my house full time I won't be pressured by the low amount of days to hunt. I've been pretty lucky on this property harvesting 2.5 year old nice bucks. Just like the two I got last year. I want to make it a point that I harvest a mature doe and wait iit out for that bigger buck 3.5 or better. That is my goal.

Nothing more rewarding than taking a kid fishing or hunting. Great job!

Last one was big. Those of you that have shot a Bear how do you have it cut up? I have a lot of bear in my area and its just a matter of time until we get one. Ground meat and roasts?

Thank you and yes he does. Son Tyler is very good also. Good people, close to home makes it very easy! I think my group has given him 8 deer to mount in the last 10 years. All look great!

Well I switched gears after stoping in today at the Massy dealer. They have the E and M series. I was going to buy the 1835 E. The 1835 M is bigger in all aspects. Also has a power shuttle. I asked them for a quote on the M and it was 3k more. A no brainer for me. So I take delivery in a week or so. I took some picts before I left. Thanks for all the input into the decision.

So I have a question. My first morning at the cabin and across my driveway was a hen with 4 poults. As I watched three other hens were behind them. as they got closer to the poults the mother hen fended them off not wanting them near. I thought it was weird. any ideas or is this normal.

I'm at my new (old) home. Howard N.Y. My brother in-law surprised me with his wife and they had lunch set up when I pulled in. It was really cool!

1 day left in my house I move up the Homestead tomorrow morning. Just have to pack up the truck with a bunch of small stuff and off I go. Been looking forward to this a long time. Have a bunch of projects to do nothing crazy and I should be set for the fall. Headed out to Calverton National Cemetery to see my folks this morning with my daughter. That should be it. I'll let you know when I get there!! lol

5 Reasons American Wild Turkeys Are Declining
First-light replied to Grouse's topic in Turkey Hunting
It's a shame. Back when I bought my place in 8P in 2007 we would see many Turkeys. Not too many hunters shot them. Fields were planted in corn mostly. My guess predation cause the coyote population increased. Loved seeing these birds in the field. -
Happy Birthday!!!!!!!

It was a wonderful A day at West Point Saturday. We were able to spend the evening with my Daughter and most of today. We chilled out in the hotel room and she took out all the letters and cards. You guys were the best! The cards you sent what you wrote to her was amazing! I love you all for what you did for my Daughter. She was just dropped off at Post getting ready for classes tomorrow. Good Karma came back to me this month and you were all a great part of it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Burt
