Geno, Great question! As a life long upstate resident I can tell you the taxes are off the hook. Anyone who knows me, knows how bad, and for how long, I have b!t(#@& about the very subject.

The one word that drives me out of my mind when I read it is, "prolly", for "probably". But you prolly don't care................., "just sayin" (the new one that makes me cringe.....)

Deerthug, Which is then followed by the Second Amendment. You know I sat down with my coffee this morning and read this thread, and was a bit shocked, to tell you the truth at the responses. Maybe I'm reading the responses wrong, but it looks like lots of non believers here. That's certainly OK I guess (First Amendment), but answer me this: How can so many grumble and groan about their "right" to "keep and bear arms" (Second Amendment), when that very right (and others) is given, and guaranteed to them by, documents written by our founding fathers who placed great emphasis on the belief in a GOD, and Christian principles? Are we to pick and choose which rights we like and which ones we don't, or which ones we think are valid and which ones are not, depending on what our own particular need is?

I love many styles of music, depends on my mood I guess. However, when I'm playing music, as the NYH should probably give a clue, it's Bluegrass and Country. It's in the blood I guess, because my daughter is a Board certified music therapist, and my son has Master's in Early music performance and a second Master's in Conducting. He teaches music in New Hamphire, and conducts and sings professionally in Boston.

I'm sure the insurance companies are secretly drooling and clapping their hands for joy over this one.

Cool, nice job! Many years ago when the DEC was still insisting there were no coyotes here, a gray one and a blonde colored one ran across the highway, and I watched the car in front of me hit the blonde one. I stopped and was puzzled by the color of it. In fact I actually called a DEC biologist I knew in Utica, bagged it it a lawn and leaf bag, and me and my cousin took it downtown for him to see. It was hysterical as I carried the thing inside the county office building, up the elevator to his office, and tried to keep it from falling out of the bag. When I got there and took it out of the bag he told me it was a "dog", because there were "no coyotes in the area", and besides, "they don't come in that color". Even when I told him it was with another one that was gray, he insisted it was a dog. I said to hell with it and took it back to the same spot it was hit and left it there. Since that time the DEC stopped denying their existence, and I have seen them in many different color phases, ranging from blonde/red, gray to almost black. Again, nice coyote, congrats!

Well if I end up living there Phade, i'll bring the beagles and we'll keep them bunnies in check.

Hey thanks WNY. That must be some lucky kid to have a track like that. It looks huge!! As I zoomed in it confused me because it looks like a big garage/shop type building, with lots of scrap and junk all over the place.

Well, I have a tentative offer in Rochester. Still have nothing solid in my hands for Ogdensburg. I was looking at the area out by my daughter was wondering if anyone could tell me what I'm looking at on Google Maps. Out on "Plank road", towards "Nine Mile Point" something or other road, is that a "race track" of some sort? It looks like a huge dirt track for motocross. Also, has anyone on this site ever hunted that area? Thanks for the help.

I've seen it several times in the past and actually posted the same question years ago. I never did get any good explanations. Once, it was a wounded deer that someone shot that crossed over onto my land. I tried tracking it but it was leaving no blood, acted gut shot, and I wondered if the blue urine had something to do with an injured organ. I never caught up with the deer.

Watch out..........big brother may be watching here too!

Things feeling really positive for Ogdensburg right now. Perhaps it won't be long before I'm puttering around up there. Always thought I would be moving to a warmer climate when all was said and done. When it comes to me staying in the snowy North East, I guess it just goes to show you, never say never. LOL!

I just wish people would finally wake up, and vote all the bums out.....take up a vote all the incumbents out campaign. Even on the brink of financial ruin they vote themselves more money, do less and bicker, pi$$ and moan more. It would be nice if we could throw them all off their own fiscal cliff come election time.

Super fishing on Black Lake over the years, Indian River, and Butterfield, Red, Clear, lakes. Also, tons of fish on Chippewa Bay. I still want to know about snowshoe hares and rabbits though. I'll hang onto my land down here and come back for deer hunting I guess, even if I move north.
