  1. You can actually get three tags without having any DMP. Super sportsman.
  2. Saw some bucks licking branches already.
  3. Gfd, We can arrange something on the next batch. Send me a PM if you are serious.
  4. Technically, I think the max bucks per year in LI was 2 either sex 1 buck 4 DMP that can each earn a buck That's 7 potential bucks already plus 4 does. Then there's the DMP that can be transferred, so that's 2 more, making it 6 does and 9 bucks. Can someone confirm?
  5. Plenty of fly fishing opportunities less than an hr from you.
  6. Sorry bkln, just saw this. The application is at any State Police office. They will send you info to get printed as well by a third party, total cost is something like $60-70 for the entire application plus prints. Unfortunately, I don't know the likelihood of approval, but it does take a long time for the process as they are flooded right now with apps.
  7. Biggest complaint about the three prong brush rest is replacement brushes. If you're lucky enough to get them on right, you may not have to re-tune your bow, but just the cost of replacing brushes alone can get you a nice drop away after a few sets of those brushes.
  8. Geno, read post #45 http://huntingny.com/forums/index.php?/topic/17737-Today-8/12/2013-DMP's-are-available...-Did-you-get-your-area?/page__view__findpost__p__226776 I was going to get you involved, but the issue resolved itself.
  9. John, I don't work for the DEC, so I car say for sure how it works. I don't believe they have a target number of tags issued per say, but they have an anticipated estimate of how many they want to give out, relative to how many people apple each year, and adjust the lottery probabilities to curb those numbers to get their end results. Notice each year, the numbers of tags issue is not perfect. It's never 3000 or 12000, that should tell the story right there. Just like the left over tags for areas like 1C and 3S every year, they are available for 24 hours at a time, and you are guaranteed to get the tag if you went in, regardless if it was 12:00 am or 11:59 PM the next day. You would get that tag. Once the day is over, calculations are made, and they may continue issuing extra tags, or close an area off.
  10. I've popped an arrow out of my QAD on my way into the woods on a spot and stalk. It is prone to happen when you are in some brush that requires the bow to be canted to the left or switched hands to get around brush on your left, if you are a righty like me. It's not as secure as quiet as the whisker when stalking, that's for sure.
  11. Knife slip from the guy doing the gutting and skinning.
  12. Some kind if high carbon stainless steel knife made in China. Surprisingly sharp and has a nice flex to it for getting around the ribs for removing the straps and carving out the rest of the deer. I've done 4 deer with it, and still as sharp as new. It's disappointing since I like to sharpen my knives often.
  13. Not when it comes to the law. Just like I wouldn't ask for advice on dental hygiene from someone upstate.
  14. You sure can, just explain to the judge why you are feeding corn to squirrels. Good luck not looking like a dummy.
  15. Oh, I guess that hit a nerve. No need to get your panties in a bunch. The original post indicated that a sales associate at a big box store doesn't know what he's talking about as was called a dumb B@^[%]^{. And your post is very similar in that you are giving wrong info as well. I think you can put 2 and 2 together. You're a smart lad. I you would like to continue the name calling, I have no problems getting a mod in here to help cool you down.
  16. If mineral and feed is illegal to sell in NY, how else will DEC make a living? Perhaps the solution is not to ban the feed, but to change the laws. Oh, that's right, a judge already overruled thy one in Sullivan. Not all wildlife is banned from feed. I can feed squirrels all day long until they poop out brown peanut butter and I'll be perfectly legal. Choose your words wisely, else you want to be just like the dumb B@%{*+#=} mentioned earlier.
  17. This whole government is built on hypocrisy. Nothing new here. What I have a problem with is the way you phrased your title to be misleading and confrontational. More than likely, these restaurant owners and those that oppose to the banning of shark fun are legal US citizens. You seem to be making this into an economic power issue between two nations, which clearly it is not. Like I said, this is about OUR policies and OUR business here in the US.
  18. No Vince, you do not unfortunately. Good luck!
  19. Rabbits at Stewart is close to impossible without briar pants and/or a dog. I wouldn't say loaded, but there are opportunities.
  20. If you do run into them, be sure to enable GPS geotagging on your camera and take pictures then switch to video on them. Sometimes you need to fight nasty with nasty, mixed in a little intelligence in there sometimes. Hope the real LEO's up there are not corrupt and are in cahoots with these low lives.
  21. Does anyone know a good simple and easy recipe for hearts and straps? I've got these things here and would hate to toss them. Please help save them from the raccoons!
  22. Available to anyone who wants them. (Not the ribs, that's the best part)
  23. If they don't want to play fair, no need for you to either. Call the cops and report them. Post signs and make sure you are doing your part to keep out the rude officers.
