Yeah ..I have used 300 Gr. XTP'S for a long time. They hit like a ton of bricks, but I can't find them anymore. Im down to my last few. I picked up a pack of Power shocks last year just to have them. They fly great but I have heard that they blow apart…hope to find some more XTP'S

Yup…..I tried going gentle and applying a little downward pressure while slowly taking it off safe but that didn't work..It was just a loud , deer spooking "CLICK!!!" After I had the safety button switched, it was still kind of loud when I took it of safe, in the usual manner, but now when I push down a little and slowly take it off safe, it is totally quiet.

Deer have ticks….Have him drop it off at the butcher. Haul it in the bed of a pick up or utility trailer. Don't put it in the back of a SUV or in the trunk of a car. The ticks can live several days. If he does his own cutting, tell him to skin it ASAP ,put the hide in a garbage bag and get rid of it. Check himself for ticks, before he gets into the house. The meat will be fine.

Im heading out for my annual hunting trip, on Wed. so I don't have time to get it set up and sighted in for the trip. I really want to hunt with it but it might not happen this season. I still didn't want to send it back to Ruger, so Im happy.

Im heading to Portville Tue. or Wed. to hunt the last two or three days of bow and the first few of rifle. The property is half in Catt. Co. and half in Allegheny Co. Been hunting down there for 35yrs. The whole area is real good. Good luck -
A couple old patterns that I wish they still made are Tree bark and Smokey branch. I still have some clothes in these patterns but they are pretty tattered.

I love it when you find that arrow with all that good blood on it!!!!
-
Not sure if it would have been or not. The guy took the button off of another American that was going back to the factory for a rusted (out of the box) bore. That button worked great in my rifle and the button out of mine worked fine the the other.

Great buck!!! Congrats !!!

I'd say you grazed the top of her back. There is not much blood at all on that arrow.

Like snapping a dry twig. Its the loudest safety I have ever heard. I had a guy look at it this morning. He swapped out the safety button. It did the trick. Now if I apply a little downward pressure while sliding the safety forward, it is totally quiet. It took him about 15 minutes.

Is that a horn or a thorn???
-
Yeah..Im going to have a gunsmith I know take a look, but I might end up contacting Ruger. Mine is the predator version with the O.D. green stock and slightly heavier, threaded barrel. The safeties should all be the same though.

I just picked one of these up in 25-06. They have gotten real good reviews but the safety on mine is louder than hell. When I take it off of safe there is a loud "CLICK" loud enough to spook deer. Its so loud that I wouldn't hunt with it. I tried to apply a little pressure to it, when I take it off safe, but it does no good. Anyone have one of these? Is yours loud too? ..Any fixes?

Sooner or later it will… and he'll be pissed….But if he doesn't want to vote………whatever.. -
7F…Finally saw a nice mature buck this morning. ( He was in range but I just couldn't get a stink'n shot @#$%!!). Anyway….he was just walking through. He stopped twice to just give the ground a quick sniff and then just slowly walked off. He payed zero attention to a couple soft grunts I gave him. Things have to pop anytime now..

If you're unhappy about the SAFE Act, high taxes and high housing costs why not vote and at least make an attempt to change all that crap? I know.. you don't think that your one vote will make any difference. If half the people who thought like you, would vote for change I think you would see at least a little movement. -
Depends on the stand. Most of the time the quiver stays on the bow. I shoot better with it on. But one stand in particular, doesn't let me shoot to the left, with out the arrows in the quiver, hitting the stand seat cable. It almost cost me a buck 2 years ago.

7F. Monday had two does acting real nervous & looking behind them No buck showed. Yesterday one smaller buck just milling around. Scrapes are active. I found a fresh rub line on the edge of a field.

Im thinking that there might be another run on guns and ammo soon. Remember the empty ammo shelves ? -
Oh….Good point. Dont rely on anyone to bring back the ladder to get you down. It could end up being a long cold wait. . Use screw ins, climbing sticks etc,,,,etc,,,
