  1. Bales of hay, I mean straw LOL.... bound with ratchet straps
  2. Thanks.. Im heading out in an hour or so to see how it shoots.
  3. Thanx. I picked up a used 22-250 and a friend told me that one way to tell if the bore was shot out was to set a cartridge , bullet first, into the muzzle and check for fit. The 22-250 round seemed loose but the 223 round was snug. I think the 22-250 round must be seated deeper.
  4. Quick question for you reloader guys...Does a 223 and a 22-250 use the same diameter bullet ?
  5. Welcome. Im also right eye dominate but shoot left.....What ever works. LOL !
  6. 770's are junk. I don't know what the hell Remington is thinking. Mag problems and a gritty grabby ass action. Look at the Ruger American. It's about $400 new. Floated barrel, bedding blocks, 3 lug bolt, real smooth action & is suppose to be real accurate. It comes with scope bases and maybe rings (not sure about the rings) Chambered in most popular deer cals. At $400 you can still put a decent scope on it and still stay right around your budget. Good luck.
  7. I use both. My one spot (Allegheny Co.) is rifle. I hunt down there the first 3 or 4 days of gun season, and then again during the last week. The rest of the season I hunt a spot near the house thats still shotgun only. For that i break out the old Winchester 1300. I bought it in 92 and it has always shot great. It throws Lightfields right in there. In all that time I only had to tweak the scope once.
  8. Ahh the old pre season $.99 slug sale. There's a blast from the past. I still have some of those LOL
  9. 4'x6' will work. You might want to consider something like a 5'x10' though. it will give you extra room for gear/deer, behind the ATV. I use to use a 4x6 but always seemed to need a little extra room for stuff.
  10. LOL ! I've been doing that all summer. Saturday I had my son move a pile of wood that really didn't need to be moved. I keep telling him he's going to wake up one day and find that damn X-box at the bottom of the pool.
  11. Sorry...That really sucks. I hate these little inbreds who run around stealing hunters gear.
  12. You misunderstand. The morality and legality of filling nuisance permits is not the point. Im talking about a person who is such giant loser, that he/she brags about deer he/she took on easy kill permits and then taunts people about it. I think that most people would agree that such a person is a colossal loser. Whats with the "pitching" reference? You have to give the admins more credit than that.
  13. If a person has nuisance permits to fill. Go for it. Like I said, its not for me. But a person who fills a bunch of these, easy kill, permits and then posts pictures of the deer (some really small) and then brags about it and taunts people by saying how he just throws out the meat, is a stone cold LOSER. End of story,,no deep thinking involved. Not shawnhu though....thats different.
  14. Sounds like a remote place. I think I would just not leave anything for them to steal. I know its a pain, but I would cart things like TV's, radios, ammo etc. back and forth and replace the pipes with the cheap flex pipe. I hate these little maggots....Good luck
  15. Maybe " Slickers "? The one down past the hardware store, by the water. Its been a while but I seem to remember a lot of mounts/fish on the wall.
  16. Yup...The deer in Old Forge are pretty use to people. Deer everywhere. We were up there the year before last and my kids were feeding deer out of their hands.
  17. Congrats.. Hoyt is a great bow. I shot a Raptor for years (still have it). I bought a new bow a few years back and the only reason I didn't stick with Hoyt is because there were no dealers anywhere near me and I didn't want to order on line. Good luck.
  18. A while back a fuel delivery guy had a brain cramp and filled diesel fuel into the unleaded tanks at the local Dept. of public works fueling station. A bunch of police, D.P.W. parks Dept. etc...vehicles were out of commission for a while. I think the guy got canned.
