7mm-08 all day. Maybe a hair more recoil than a .243 but will put them down faster.

I have had bucks follow drag lines & come right into me. I use a key wick dipped in doe estrus and drag it with some mono fishing line. It's not magic...a hot buck has to hit your trail.

If you look into it, it was no doubt a terror attack but for some reason it isn't labeled as one. I believe the survivors and family of those killed are suing the government over it. Lets hope they win.

Same thing happened to me a while back on land that bordered ours. We had permission to hunt it for years. It was just a narrow strip maybe 80yrds. wide that ran between 2 properties. I went in there in the spring to turkey hunt when this goof comes running up to me yelling that he bought the property and how I was trespassing. I told him that I had no idea the land had been sold and that I had been hunting there for years. Then he pointed out an old tree stand that I built when I was a kid. When I told him it was mine he told me that I had to take it down yelling the whole time. Long story short I told him what he could do with the stand, rusty nails and all. So yeah I would have done the same

The only thing I ever had any luck with is stuff called Kishles toe musk. a few drops in a real or mock scrape and they stay interested. I have never shot one over one of the scrapes but I noticed that they kept tending it which means at least they stay in the area. I cant fine any one who carries it anymore so I have to on line it. Im heading down to 9x next week (Portville) keep me posted LOL!

Sounds kind of like the one I have. I shoot left handed so my quiver is on the left side of the bow. I mount the holder on the left side (as you're facing out) of my climber platform, so the arrows in the quiver hang off of the left side and don't hit the stand. Only draw back is that I have to grab the bow with my draw hand and switch it over, but its not that big of a deal. If you remove the quiver it wont matter what side you mount it on, but I like leaving mine on.

Is it the "S" shaped bow holder?

On a serious note, I heard on the news last week that because the Fort Hood attack is not labeled as a terrorist attack, the families of the soldiers killed and the soldiers who were wounded, get much lower benefits and aid. That is a true shame.

I had a 1950 Savage 99 in 300. Got rid of it some years back and have been kicking myself in the a$$ ever since. Great classic rifle and a great deer caliber ....I'm a freaking idiot!!

Watched a buck this morning just meander on by about an hour after a doe came through on the same trail. ....Who the bleep knows. A few days ago I saw a buck make a scrape and then chase a doe a little before giving up other, so I thought by now it would be hot and heavy . I still think this week end and next week will be good, but then again who the bleep knows.

As radical as think Obama is, I have a hard time buying this one. Need more info.

Gun season next week. wondering what everyones favorite gun/load combo is. Im going with a 7mm-08 with Rem. green box 140 grns. down in rifle country. When I get back home it will be a 12 ga. Winchester 1300 with Lightfield 2 3/4"

I think he is the same guy that was the gun smith at Despirdos in Solvay and later Bass Pro in Auburn. He has done work for me, when he was in Solvay and I would highly recommend him. I still hunt with a rifle he set up for me about 15 years ago.

Now im gonna have to get the wife to make me one this weekend ..I knew I shouldn't have looked LOL!!

What I often think about is yearly taxes or fees being imposed, on each firearm a person owns. It could become too costly to own guns. Hope Im just being paranoid.

I have to say I agree. I have seen a ton of guns ,used in crimes, in upstate come in from Ohio, mainly Cleveland. The gang banging, career criminal, welfare leeching pieces of $hit take the road trip, pay a friend with an I.D. and no Felony convictions to buy hand guns and then bring them back to NYS and sell them to other pieces of $hit for a big profit. The favorite seems to be the Hi-point 9mm with 2 mags. $199.99.. Im a big 2nd amendment guy but some states are just nuts. OOPS was that in any way Racist????? Bet it was.

'I have my first Mossberg too 32 years old and never had trouble with it, although I don't really use it anymore. If you don't like the Mossberg get a rifled Remington 870. They are real good, real accurate guns for not a ton of money.
