I have been seeing them for years down in 9X area. I found one on me opening day, after hanging a deer. I was down there a few years ago and found one stuck in my arm. I tried to pull it out and the head snapped off. Had to have it dug out of my arm. I haven't seen any around my home hunting area-7F. I hate those nasty little things....Im all itchy just thinking about them.

Right ..... but 50% at best????? A few months ago Gander was paying 30%... I know they need to make money but ?????? I talked with a guy that works the gun Dept. at the local Gander. He told me that since they boosted their % to 50 their used gun sales are down over 60%. The whole Point is don't get boned. sell your gun here, or internet or swap sheet...etc..etc.. Just my 2 cents.

I see that Gander Mountain is advertising a big used gun buying event, from Dec. 7 to the 10th. Bring in your unwanted guns and get cash for them............ Don't wast your time and gas. The most they will give you is 50% of the guns resale value, even on a trade. You are way better off trying to sell it on this sight, the internet or the swap sheet.....Don't let the Gander Goose ya!!!!!

Glad you got one with your grandfathers old 99. It would be cool enough to take a deer with any old classic rifle but the fact that it was your grandfathers makes for an even better day......Congrats

Yeah... I really like the Nikon stuff. Their entry level scope is the Pro Staff line. A 3-9x40 will run you around $150 but if you wait till after x-mas I bet you can find one even cheaper. They are exellent quality scopes. I have 3 Nikons and love them. I made my longest shot ever with a 3-9 on opening day. Dead nuts.

Yup.. Pathfinders is a real good range. Its way affordable and provides a good amount of land to hunt. I don't think all that many guys hunt it after opening week. (plus you can get a cheap cold one after the hunt)

The vast majority of tickets, traffic and parking are issued legitimately. Mistakes will be made. If you get stopped, don't be a cocky little D@#k, that will get you nowhere. If you are issued a ticket that you don't think you deserve then go to court. There is a good chance that the ticket will at least be reduced. All these people who are issued numerous tickets which are ALL BOGUS.........Seriously???? No one is buying that. Ball up boys. -
That was a cool episode. You could tell that the guy knew what he was doing. But yeah I scratch my head wondering how they can really film a show that documents all that illegal activity. Even if the producers kept quiet, you would assume that the local authorities would recognize these guys and be all over them.

Those reproduction ammo/gun posters are pretty cool. Like the old Winchester, Remington, Peters signs that use to hang in stores back in the day. I bought a few some years back. On advertised for the Remington model 8 rifle one for Peters birdshot and one was for Winchester Silver tip ammo. After I had them framed they looked damn good. I ended up giving them to my brother, to hang in his camp after my wife "redecorated". I kinda want them back!! LOL -
If you know someone with a high cal. magnum rifle, see if you can get them to let your nephew take a few shots with it. He might see the light after he gets his teeth rattled, then he may want to just stick with the 08.

Baby gun???? This kid needs some learn'n.. I switched to a 7mm- 08 a while back and have taken a few bucks with it. I use to use an 06. The 08 puts them down just as fast but in a lighter gun and with way less recoil. I took a decent buck on opening day at close to 200 yds. Held right on him and he went maybe 30 yards. These young guys think that bigger is better.( 300 Win. Mag. sounds cooler than 30-30) After they get some gray hairs , they'll see the light..
