  1. I have both a .243 and a 22 mag. Together they will do all you want to do. If I had neither...I'd look for a .223.
  2. If I recollect correctly, there is a somewhat obscure NY law requiring all non-residents who pick berries in this state to share any/all baked goods made with said berries with any/all NY hunters. (And, if you don't share, Doc will sic the police on you!) Cake looks great....I will try it as soon as I can find some PA berries.
  3. So...God made liberals; You anti-liberals know whom to blame!
  4. It is guys like Doc..."The government will protect us!" guys, that will undermine us in the fight to protect our Second Amendment rights.
  5. From Doc: " Why do you demand sacrifices of police that you would never be willing to make?" Um...Doc, turn your question around, and you will understand us a little better! Your head is a big mystery, too!
  6. jjb4900 is correct: the police are government employees. In many cases, they serve as govt. lackeys (speed traps to pad local coffers...etc.). Those of you (Doc, et. al.) who support arming police in military fashion...tell me why? Why does a police officer need assault weapons? Are not most SWAT teams Unnecessary and a waste of money...and a threat to the citizenry? The govt. is armed to the teeth, fellows.....and they wish disarm or under-arm the general populace. Hmmm.....why? Those who wish to be armed in a manor equal to the govt. forces are not bashing police. They simply are demanding equality.....Hey, that's American, right?
  7. I agree...good stuff, but.......For this to work, retailers must follow a similar path. I cannot see that happening...They make too much money from selling to police agencies and cops who can still buy/use stuff that we cannot. Who knows....maybe there is a retailer out there who values the Second Amendment.
  8. Well said, wheelieman.....The govt. forces...aka police...are no better than the general public. You can be sure, however, that many will hide behind "only following orders...only doing my job" as they enforce Cuomo's new gun law. Doc....Why worry about our police officiers being able to defend themselves?? Most currently have access to and use a variety of "assault weapons". We are already out-gunned by the govt. That's a sad state of affairs.
  9. This great, but....we have to pressure the local retailers who make so much money by supplying local police to do the same. Will that happen....I doubt it!
  10. Many "break ins" are effected without any "breaking"...or little of it. As advised earlier: KEEP YOUR DOORS AND WINDOWS LOCKED!!! Rig some jimmy proof devices on doors and windows that are on the back side of your house, or are located where neighbors and passersby can't monitor them for you. Doors and windows that require actual "breaking" to get into your house often deter common burglars. Remember: Thieves want to get in and out quickly, and as quietly as possible. Anything you can do to slow them down will help.
  11. And, to every other arms dealer that serves...or might serve NY govt. agencies.
  12. Ants....You are insecure, are you not? Just because someone throws down a glove doesn't mean you must pick it up. Relax, bro...............
  13. Wait...You can attack the idealogical views of others that are not related to religion, but attacks on religion are not okay?? Explain, please...
  14. Of course, the very foundation of most religions is "boogey men". (Really now...tell me that the funny hats and gowns don't suggest "boogey men") I readily admit to being anti-religion. In formal religion, I see too much hate...too much fear...too much greed...too much mumbo-jumbo...way, way too much that I could no way in hell believe in...too much that makes no rational sense. Why is it that some of you are so testy when it comes to religion. If I challenge your beliefs....so what? Why let me threaten your belief system? Could there be some doubts in the back of your mind? I mean no harm when I speak of religion...I mean no offense. So...Take no offense, where none is intended! A guy once accused me of being a Democrat. I protested that I certainly was not. He then accused me of being a Presbyterian. Again, I said, "No way!" So, he asked, "Well, what are you?" I answered, "I'm not sure!"
  15. Ahhh...You guys prove my point: You CREATE your own boogey men...using your own definitions. Interesting that you should know so well, just exactly what Bush was, or Obama is. It is surprising that with your superior intellect and insight that you are not running the country. No need to look under your bed...just look in the mirror!
  16. Americans seem to need a boogey man: For conservatives...that's a liberal; For liberals...a conservative. Gives each someone to bitch about...someone to blame (or shift blame from themselves). Just think: Bush was a conservative...Obama is a liberal; Yet, they govern the same: screw the people, pad the pockets of the rich, wage war to enrich the profiteers, etc., etc. Makes me wonder: Is there such a thing as an absolute liberal?...or an absolute conservative? I hope not!
  17. The 20% difference in bullet weight should not affect accuracy at that distance, but it might affect recoil, particularly if the gun is a lightweight. I concur with Pygmy's advice. For your carry loads, bullet design is more important than mere bullet weight. There are many "defense" loads available today with bullet weights that are in the 125 gr. range. One that I liked back when I had a .38 was Winchester's Silvertip 110 gr. self defense load. If you can find some of this at a gun show...even a partial box...buy it!
  18. Venison rice and beans is great...and very easy to make.
  19. Call her that to her face...and you would find out who the real loser is!!!!
  20. NASCAR fantasy?? You're talking Danica Patrick, right?
  21. How do you chamber a round without racking the slide??
