Dude 2011 is 570 and 2017 is 571?? Again that’s our bid success??
-
Look at the youth hunt. Something the NYS Bowhunters fought against. 1,000 deer!! That’s it only 1k deer and they don’t want it.
-
Here is the stats from DEC on deer harvest numbers and implement.
-
The numbers are only up because of covid. And Xbox is already legal. That’s not the argument. The argument is access.
-
Dude you call this a success!!
-
Only in New York would hunters fight for less access by hunters that want to use a different legal hunting implement. The sport is dying and people here are upset that children have their own season, that people want to use a different type of bow, they want their season longer and others season shorter. I have never see a bunch of self absorbed selfish narcissistic people in my life. And they do all this using a modern bow that has no resemblance to a primitive weapon while hanging from a tree out of sight of the prey with some sort of smug self righteousness. It’s really kind of pathetic to listen to.

Tenpoint makes special bows every year just for NY. I spoke to a tec at Tenpoint and they think it’s stupid. So do I. Suffolk county has asked for Xbows to be legal every year for several years now. But the state because of the NYS bowhunters Ass. Say no every year.
-
I have a different take on the whole issue. I don’t mind the season as is. The last thing I need is a longer season. But two issues that bother me are the xbow restrictions, weight and size. Ridiculous. And the ban in Suffolk country. If I could buy a modern Xbow and use it in my county I would be happy.

I’m down in Florida for the winter and got my first shot. DeSantis unlike our useless governor is getting this stuff in people’s arms as fast as possible. Doctors, nurses, health care professionals, cops, first responders, teachers and people 65 and over. Unlike FUAC he actually gets things done instead of flapping his gums and killing old people.

Cabelas Stand hunter extreme parka and bibs
mike103 replied to Chromeslayer's topic in Hunting Items For Sale and Trade
I have this set and it is the warmest hunting suit imaginable. Not for walking. But if you want to remain on stand when the temps drop to single digits this is the suit for you. I also responded to the MTO 50 thread because I own several sets of Cabelas clothing I bought before they were bought out by the fish store. -

I hunt from a blind. I’ve shot two bucks. One at 50 yards and one at 20 yards. Free hand not a problem.

You can’t cross any road. But on the main block you can roam.

I hunted RP for 40 years. The deer in RP are hunted hard for three months every year. Because of the hard hunting pressure there are not as many deer in RP as there once was. Not to say good deer will not be taken because they will. The deer in RP lay down for much of the day. Look for bedding ares in more open hard woods, the little there is. Hunt the edges of the restricted zones. The deer are not stupid. Put up cameras but don’t leave them for protracted lengths of time they will be taken. Hunt the morning and evening. Deer are not as active during the day in Rocky. Hunt near where pheasant hunters are they get the deer moving. You know where the food plots are that they put in for the pheasants. Use them. You don’t have to stay near your parking spot. Once on the main block you can go where you want. Hope this helps.

I put one up five or six years ago when they first came out. I left it up all this time. This year it was unrepairable with duck tape so I thru it away. I have a new one in the box waiting to go up. I’m 6’2” tall and I can stand up in it easily. Two grown men in camp chairs can fit. My nephew who is plus size was able to draw his bow while standing and kill a deer. I have killed several deer in this blind and shared my blind with others who also killed deer. I highly recommend this blind.

Big Mike ground blind.

Not to worry it will be over before the gun season starts. Come to think it will be over before Xbow starts. November 4th. One day after the election.
-
It does make me happy. Last year he was watching the ten I shot. Showed a picture to his FIL. FIL was dying and said the SIL would get that ten. He died before the season ended and did not know I shot the ten. The SIL believes the FIL brought that 11 to him this year.

Shooting rifle, pistol and bow one eyed is fine. Wingshooting with a shotgun is better with both eyes open.

I switched when I was 12. I’m 66 so there is no going back. 1/3 or all men have this problem it’s very common. Let your son shoot lefty. You won’t regret it. I’m a registered skeet shooter and a shooting instructor thru the NSSA. I have experience in this.
