  1. Both actually. Raised blind and or platform.
  2. Just curious if anyone can share their platform stand pics / plans / idea's? If I have the time I'll do it this year, if not then next year. Leaning towards next year so I have some more time to scout out the perfect spot.
  3. I think what they are saying the DEC is opening all area's in SC for the special season, and its up to the towns to decide if that is allowed or not.
  4. The press release just went out, and no mention of the youth season either!
  5. Yes and it specifically states that it was adopted on July 11th 2012.
  6. And irrelevant, your in a totally different area where food sources, population, soil quality are totally different then where AR's are in place now.
  7. True, I'd go for the ears thing in a second instead over points. So why did the state choose to go the points route? They must have thought its a better / easier option.
  8. Counting points is the only way to get mass AR adoption / identification in these area's. I can't think of a better way, but yes its a great start, especially for these area's.
  9. Awesome Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  10. Things were reported by us, and there has been a lot of DEC activity. Perhaps keep trying.
  11. Eating lunch right now, almost lost it there.
  12. Yeah it does... Hrmmm Thats great news! Confirming w/DEC... Because the way they made it sound yesterday it wasn't going to happen.
  13. I'm excited... Glad others who wish to see it in their area now have it. 3H and 3J (not since I switched to 3H) - its done a lot of good. A lot more bucks running around. I've said it in the past, but the butcher up the block has seen both bigger racks and more meat on the bucks since the AR was put in place.
  14. We have seen some nice results where I am.
  15. I'm excited to try out Oct 1st... Oct 1st is a Monday, Looks like I'll be taking off a few days to start the season off... To bad its not a Sat!
  16. Update: http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/10524-ny-dec-2012-deer-and-bear-hunting-seasons-announced/
  17. 2012 Deer and Bear Hunting Season Dates Announced More Info Here:
  18. I started hunting when I was 16 and it was a blast being at camp with everyone its what I look forward to every year. But if it means that more kids are going to get in the woods who freaking cares what the motives are. I just want to see more youth out there so our sport lives on and grows.
  19. I'll be building one soon. My plans is to have a deck on it... If you ever see Joe (fairgame's) stand, its really nice. He is right up the block from me (in the woods) and I checked out his stand and fell in love. The beauty is you can sit out on the little deck for bow season and warm rifle days and for the crazy weather / super cold days you can jump inside. The real challenge is figuring out where to put it. I think I'd like to do 6 4x4x16's for the platform, mount the metal brackets in some quickcrete, get my platform up and going with a railing. If I could do that this year great, if not next year. This way the following year I can build the little hut up there or even toss a blind on there as a temp solution. There are a bunch of idea's here too:http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/4908-lets-see-your-hunting-tree-stand-pictures
