This weekend is going to be HOT! It looks like 100 tomorrow on the island. Good thing I got my little ghetto pool setup.

I've always wanted my own pool. I didn't want to dive into a above ground or in ground (never will happen to expensive) with out trying out to see if I was a "pool" guy. I know they can be a headache if your not on top of them. I did my research, and I bought one of those easy setup Intex pools... Wow... This this is great, it let me get a pool setup and going in a matter of a few hours for less then $300. I ended up tossing the stock crap filter and getting a real sand filter instead. Its a 15 Round 48 inches high, 3,800 gallons, not to shabby for a temp pool. Anyways, I went on the net to read about pool maintenance, and found this great site that goes over a method called the BBB method. BBB = Bleach, Borax and Baking soda. Not only does it work, it makes the water sparkle and you do not need any of those pool store chemicals. I test the water ever other day and everything is always pretty much perfect. Dump a little bleach in here and there to keep the chlorine level where it needs to be and the pool just sparkles. The key is a really good testing kit and staying on top of that FC level. Long story short after the last 2 weeks, I think I'm a pool guy. Been in there every day taking the baby in to get her used to splashing and kicking. Wife has been using it as well. During these past few hot weeks our backyard would be nearly useless without having a pool to hangout and cool off in. You can read on the BBB method here: http://www.troublefr...ners-t5208.html

Anyone can track a deer across my property with my permission. Its pretty simple, be respectful ask, done deal. We have relationships with pretty much everyone that touches our property so its not an issue. If everyone just took a few min out to meet their neighbors it could help the situation a lot.

What are you doing to prep for the 2012 Hunting Season? Me: New sight and arrows on the bow, need to finish the setup and working on the food plots and scouting for a new stand setup...

Here is an aerial shot of my two little fields, apparently google updated their maps.

So what about ATV / Snowmobile trails, the ones that have been around forever? I have a trail that goes through my property. I've been told by neighbors that its a "National Trail" whatever that means, I googled all over, called no such trail exists. I don't mind its the corner of my proprety but I've been told by multiple neighbors its used by everyone around here for ATV, Horse, Snowmobile, etc... I actually believe its a fire road or whatever they are called. Google even has it in their maps as a real road (but its not), i verified the town abonded it back in the late 70's.

Apparently there are bears all over the freaking place
burmjohn replied to burmjohn's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
They are all over near us in Cochecton. My old man has seen them multiple times when out on the porch staring right at him. The population, at least in 3H is growing like crazy. I had them all over the cam's the last 3 years. I have yet to see one in the woods during hunting season. -
Some pics of the plots for 2012 1 is corn, one is a power plant mix.

Drooling over here even with the slow growth.

So they bust you chops but let the 1000's of lawn companies with all their "Legal" workers throw down the crap every day.
-
I don't want people on my property if they don't belong. Now if they were just taking a stroll through / sshortcut and there are no hunting seasons open I wouldn't flip out. There is no excuse if the property is well posted and they did not ask permission.

I read the story before, its horrible. There were definitely way to many people on that boat, 34 footer is not a huge boat.
