Hmm I said that a while ago and got told I was lying. The majority of gun owners in this state could care less about it as they think it does not effect them. That is why I speak out as much as I do and try to educate. But I get ridiculed for that also. I hear things like dont you have a rally to go to or better go register your assault weapons.

That will depend on who we can put up as a viable candidate. Liberal light will not do. But even of he is not elected again, there is still the senate and assembly to contend with. If they are not removed, having the most conservative governor ever will not make a difference with a liberal legislature. No one will ever be able to get a repeal bill to the desk to be signed.

He is a typical politician, but he is very good at it. His people are way better than most, and he seems to be a step ahead most of the time. The sad part is his step is always going to the left. He is dangerous and honestly can not be trusted.

yeah not like any of them have been chipped away the past few years or anything to raise a flag.or anything. You honestly think the safe act does not violate your 2nd amendment rights? Go try to by an ar 15 or have a clip with more than 7 rounds in it and see. how it is violated. Even if you choose not to own these types of guns and honestly I do not own anything that would have to be registered according to the law, so I guess in essence it does not effect me either. As a citizen as you like to throw that word around, you should be very involved if you believe in the 2nd amendment at all. A federal judge said that NY'ers do not have the same 2nd amendment rights as other states, and that is constitutional. Pull your head out of the sand and wake up. And believe me they will be after your hunting guns too. This is just the beginning if we do not stop this now.

I fa state puts gun laws in place all states that touch the border of that state have to abide by them. I have not researched this as I was told on Monday night and have not had time. So traveling across the state line may not be as easy as we all think to get ammo.

In other words a patient comes in to see the Dr. he is a hunter and owns guns. he tells the Dr that he is unhappy with the safe act and the govt and he feels the govt is trying to infringe on his rights. The Dr says he is paranoid and delusional about the govt as the DR feels guns should be better controlled. THe Dr can report him in good faith.

that is true in mental health. if a Psychiatrist feels that in NY a patient is a threat to himself or others it can be reported to the counties director of community services, who in turn contacts Ny state DOJ. A background check is completed and if and only if the person has a handgun permit, the county will revoke the permit. Now we all know that when the permit is revoked that take all guns. However there is an opt out clause. if the Dr or his designee (MURSE) feels they would put more people in jeopardy to include the Dr's family, they can opt out of reporting. So in other words it is another dumb par tof the safe act that sounds so good. In The city area as soon as this was enacted there were over 400 reports and two people lost guns. If they mentally ill person does not have a permit for a handgun, nothing happens. However if a person is an eminent threat to himself or others, a pickup order is issued and the person is evaluated at the local 939 facility.
