There only ar argument is the 2nd amendment. If we start giving in to certain parts of the law saying well an ar is not needed etc, we have lost. In for a penny, in for a pound. There is no compromise on this issue.

I guess I will never understand how any gun owner can condone justify or think this law or others like it is ok. I would bet if they came out next week and said all trucks will be banned due to the bad gas mileage and they are scary, gun owners would be more upset than at this.

Legislation is being put together to be introduced in the next month or so to classify all semi autos as "assault weapons" regardless of magazine capacity or after market changes. This is to include rifles shotguns and handguns. By the definition of the law, that would mean all will have to be registered as well and no longer be able to be purchased or sold in NY state. This is being done to stop the legal AR's. This would mean the ol 742 and 1100 will be classified. And when you pass away, the state takes them. The anti's in Albany are not going to back down from having it their way. As we all remain divided on what the second amendment is about and we do not stand united, they see no threat to take away OUR not us we and them rights. This has not been made public, just like the safe act was not. This information was passed on to me by a friend of mine who is an assemblyman. Still think they don't want all your guns? Just keep sitting back and thinking that and soon it will happen. The bottom line is this law is unconstitutional on both the federal and state levels. Splitting hairs on which guns they will not allow is simple bull crap. Either you support the 2nd amendment or you do not. Yes it is that simple.

Yes I do and here is why. This is not a Cuomo agenda. This is a federal agenda and Cuomo is the puppet for Bloomberg and Obama. They are not looking at the big picture. This law was written by some of Bloomberg's cronies and they were just waiting for the right tragedy to roll it out. This has been a plan for a long time. Look at pending legislature in NY now. It adds more and more restrictions. Just saying that it is all there in black and white. Most just refuse to see it. When they come for the ol 30-30, do not be surprised. With the new safe act, that is not how it is done. it is an entirely different set of papers. An ffl has to register with NY to do this. They cant just start doing it. The papers go to the state police. it is not the simple enter it in a book and transfer it. If you read the law they are limited to 10 bucks. There is no wiggle room to add a fee. Most small shops will not do it. A big box store type place will as they can absorb the cost and you will pay more for a gun or ammo etc. Remember the King does not want gun shops to prosper by getting a fee to do his dirty work.

A friend's father works their in data input not the true term. He says the data base is barely started after 15 months. They are dragging their feet. Lets hold their feet to the fire. Even if futile, it shows them we are still watching. I doubt this idea will take off as people are afraid it will start. Reality check it will eventually anyway. When I went to Albany lat week, before the rally, they was a message from a group asking for more restrictions from NY state. They used the my son was shot crowd to push their message. Of course we all know these would not be prevented with the new laws anymore than Sandy Hook was. I was not impressed with their number approximately 25 to 30. However a couple things that did catch my attention were They were surrounded by legislators supporting them. These legislators are still in power and if they remain so after November, this will get worse. Do you think those people were pro gun? I don't. Also, there were 5 people across from them holding repeal the safe act signs. They were escorted out by the police there and they were standing there holding signs. The media covered them to the maximum in the Albany area. The morning of the rally on the news all they said about the rally was that streets would be closed. (How do you think the commuters into town for work felt about that.) And that there would be a press conference from a group supporting the Safe act. After they got video on the news. We got a mention that said there were a few hundred to a thousand attending the rally.( Albany police conservatively said 6 thousand) If you think they don't want your hunting guns and all others, you need to wake up and smell the coffee. This is such an uphill battle against a lot more people and organizations they we all think are even out there.

It simply has to say to your representative that the law for ammo background check was supposed to be enacted in January, what is the delay please check into this. With some fluff av\bout the safe act etc. and how this is a ploy to not be done until after the election. We want them to know that we are not forgetting as they want us to. It can be sent through an email on the assembly and senate web sites.

How are you giving up a week or two? You can still hunt. Ok my thought for the week. I plan to write a letter to the editor and ask for action. I would like to ask you all to write to your representatives in Albany to ask for an inquiry. As we know back in January the ammunition back ground check was supposed to start. Like Obama care they had a year to get the database in place and is supposedly is not ready yet. My thought is they plan to hold off until after the election, as they do not want to upset the people who do not think the unsafe act will affect them. I think we need to put pressure on the King to answer why it is not running yet. If we can get this in place or at least let Albany know we have not forgotten like they hope we do until after the election. A simple note to your representatives to ask then to look into why it has not been implemented and when they plan to do so would start the ball rolling. If people have to start paying more as I said, it may energize them to do something about this. They may decide to vote in November. Educating them only goes so far as they think we are wrong.
