  1. who do you propose teach these classes when everyone now claims they can not get in a class? I doubt you would like it much if you could not hunt because all classes were full and you could not get in so you could not get a license. I do 4 or 5 a year both gun and bow and still turn people away. I do not plan to increase my work load. And to teach do not shoot at orange is quite frankly ridiculous. Red green and blue are not deer either. Humans upright are not a deer. You can not legislate away stupid actions. Teach to identify your target and beyond. This is radical as a kid shoots up a school and we lose our rights.
  2. What i do with my guns is none of your business. And btw i do not own anything that is illegal or needs to be registered. But since i do not agree with the law i am doing something about it. If you feel the same about hunting laws do something about it if you have a clue how to which i doubt since it is easier to just break it and justify it. Sent from my LGL35G using Tapatalk 2
  3. If you really think the safe act is about safety you are more clueless than i thought. I will be back later. I have a gun rally to go to. Either you obey the law or you don't. Sent from my LGL35G using Tapatalk 2
  4. All righty then. Sent from my LGL35G using Tapatalk 2
  5. I hope he gets put where there is no hunting for a long time
  6. Let us look at all the facts. The guy left the woods due to his back hurting. he was coming back in at 4:30 with 10 minutes left of legal light 60 yards in front of his buddy on watch. The guy saw brush moving and shot. The guy pulling the trigger is responsible not the guy walking in. Saw a tree move and shot at a guy returning to hunt with 10 minutes of legal light left That is the take away message. Every incident that happens the first thing everyone jumps to is the blaze orange thing. Look at the whole picture here. yes blaze orange is safe. But it is not the end all. Hunter responsibility is. KNOW YOUR TARGET AND BEYOND.I gotta say if I had to hunt in the conditions that you guys describe, I would take up bowling.
  7. it will apply to all ammo. The guy was paying with a credit card and they asked for id. Pulled his license they shut it down right there. The word is it will be delayed indefinitely, which means until after the 2014 elections. The state police will be doing the background checks and keeping all the data.A great way to get gun information. They may not know what you have, but they will know what calibers you have. Much like obamacare the database is not ready. Quite a few people still do not think this effects them as they do not own assault weapons, so they remain ambivalent to it. They will need to be effected to get involved, so delaying it is a political move as much as anything. When it costs extra for a background check to buy a box of 22 ammo people will then be pissed. Most of the dealers in my area are not going to sell ammo the same as they are not doing the background checks for individual sales. If you can not get ammo guns get pretty much useless. Ok I am off my soapbox. Long story short no internet sales after mid january.
  8. Not sure about all that but I love the ar areas then you can shoot button bucks and us an antlerless tag. If a deer makes it through the first year it has a chance to mature. I know it is the law but seems counter productive to me
  9. You are 100 percent correct. His life is essentially over also. I have said and I said in this post, if I am involved let me be the guy who got shot otherwise there would be 2 fatalities at my hands. It always effects more than the person who was shot.
  10. Well I know I will be sorry but from what I read earlier the shooter THOUGHT he saw an antler and fired because he had shot deer in the place before. Really I mean REALLY. Identify your target and beyond. Not sure if he was wearing orange or not, but he never identified a target. it seems to me most on here say they do not follow the legal shooting hours anyway and now you want the whole world to dress in blaze orange so you do not have to practice safe target identification. How did any of us ever survive hunting season before blaze orange was the necessity not to shoot someone? Oh yeah we did not shoot at things we did not know what it was. What I first read the shooter heard a sound in the brush and fired. Real safe there.
  11. My bad Sent from my LGL35G using Tapatalk 2
  12. Why not. He was shot by a party member reportedly shooting at a noise in the brush. That can happen andd has happened on private land Sent from my LGL35G using Tapatalk 2
  13. look for it doon my anti safe act has been working on just this fir a tshirt and.bumper sticker Sent from my LGL35G using Tapatalk 2
  14. ok now I have to respond. If there are tons of deer in my area, then why do I only get a dmp every 4 or 5 years even as a land owner? Why am I only getting one buck tag. If by your theory they hand then out to control the population obviously my area is well in control. You make all the arguments for not having state wide controls. Look up 6a and 6c areas then tell me we are run over with deer. There is a ny above the thruway believe it or not. And I do run trail cams, I put in food I have good cover and made water sources. The bottom line is there are not the deer here there were 10 years ago. Since you have no idea where I am, perhaps telling us all your expert opinion that there are deer all over here, is at best skewed. Botton line here too many nuisance permits over use of dmps and illegal activity has wiped down the population. These biologists you tout go mainly by information we supply. So when not all information gets to them, their findings are as skewed as yours.
  15. since you do not know me or the management principles I use on my property, not even going to respond other than to say if you want to trust a govt agency that is fine.
  16. 3 pages about crapping in the woods love it
  17. yeah come where I am and show me where all the deer are expert.
  18. Not sure what books you are reading but ummm ok. From what I read on here a lot of those does turn out to be button bucks. So how are you helping there? Get a dmp shoot a yearling with buttons and then call for ar. I love it
  19. yes they want to know sex but it is still antlerless. As I said you can get a deer with antlers and be a doe. Still have to use the "buck" tag on it. Not my wording just explaining the dec logic
  20. After a dew seasons of sitting there for 20 minutes filling a dmp or two, you get used to that. Then one season it is no there and there are no deer or dec is giving too many permits ir no snow or too warm. Just because they give the dmp does not mean every hunter has to have a pocket full to have a successful season. I really wonder how many of you would hunt where I do. I get one dmp every 5 years or so. I end up with an 2 bow muzzle tags and a buck tag. If I fill my buck tag now, I am done until late ml. I can hunt an entire weekend and see one or two deer. Want more deer stop shooting them all.
  21. You might also want to look at the lunar feeding tables for your area. Call it voodoo but in my area prime feeding times have been midnight and noon for the better part of the week due to the full moon.
  22. on my list for after the holidays
