  4. and get more instructors to fill the voids. Just saying
  5. with more information it would be easier. I am a self taught guy on the savage model 99 since I cut teeth on the barrel of one of them. There are so many different factors that will help determine the value of them.
  6. I have 2 full and one almost full packages of t/c 54-56 cal round ball patches .015 thick pre lubed with I believe wonder lube or something of the sort. They do not load well in ma renegade. I switched to .010 thickness. If anyone can use them send me a pm with address and they are yours. Of course the first one who replies gets them. I am guessing 280 or so patches.
  7. We have enough land and the hay did ok. I think we are ok until spring
  8. They are grass fed all summer and hay fed all winter, so no feed is not an issue. We have 14 now.
  9. hat is why I raise beef cattle and put one in the freezer every year.
  10. What I have left will be eaten the first weekend at camp. Kind of a tradition.
  11. I have green johnson wool pants and a green black green johnson coat. Works as well as any camo I ever wore, water sheds well and as warm as any high priced stuff I ever wore.
  12. It actually used to be law by April 1st. That has since been taken away. It was in the days of one or two deer were all the tags you could get. It was to prevent poachers from killing more deer and putting it in the freezer with last years tag numbers on it to look legal. That law was enforced much more then too. All packages had to have the hunters name date of kill and tag number on it. That is still the law, but not enforced much.
  13. it is nice but i prefer green
  14. what about my post is cranky? It was all meant in good fun.
  15. geesh Ed all I did was wish you a happy birthday. I thought we were friends.
  16. ha I actually have one in green and black plaid. Again I must say I never said I did not wear orange, I am against it being mandatory. Please remember I did not star this, just saying lol.

    Happy Birthday Ed. Enjoy
  18. I am not sure if you are aware, but deer move on their own too. It does not take all kinds of things to make them do so. Just saying.
  19. nice gun good luck with it
  20. Leave me out of this I said nothing. I just am glad my life is quiet and I do not have time to post a new story every day. That being said, I have taken a few deer when corn was being cut. It is a great time to sit a field when it is being cut. I also race go carts and have not shot any deer after doing so. I used to drive truck on my brother in laws farm and when we were cutting the deer would scramble like marbles on a hard wood floor when you went up a row.
  21. I am all for freedom of choice and join any party you want. I just can not believe the number of people who support this party and especially this president on here and still own guns and want to keep doing so. Oh yeah I believe it, this is a lib state. Come on 12/22/2013, when I can move out of here. The kool-aid must be real good this year.
  22. some people are never happy. What more do you want? It sounds like the woods to yourself for at least a month then the rest of us can join if if you have your tags filled. I agree a shorter season would be beneficial. Hunting is what it is. If you have other obligations well guess what so do the rest of us. I work 2 jobs one is mostly weekends. So if you think I or anyone else hunts from first light opening morning to last light of season closing, I think you are mistaken. No one has an unfair advantage here. You hunt when you can and do the life thing when you have to.
  23. I do not see how we are hosed. If you do not have a tag left feel fortunate. You must have tagged out last year opening day of archery as deer stop moving after that. I live just about as far north as you can be and I still am capable of seeing deer after the first day. I will be out there 9/15 looking for bear then the end of the month with the bow then with the mler when we invade the woods and take over. As i see it just another selfish rant for the poor archery guys. Wait until they make crossbows legal in archery. And as you may not know the week of mler is taken out of rifle, as it now starts a week later.
