I just moved the ghillie material around the suit so it doesn't get in the way. They make what I call a full arm camo sock that I put over the arm of mine and put my arm guard over that. For all the guys who hunt on state land it's 6:45 am and there it is the biggest buck you have ever seen but it's not 6:49 am the legal hunting time by just 4 minutes do you shoot or not? So its been a few yrs since the controversy, what does everyone think now. Is the buck a fake or is Mitch someone who was in the seedy underbelly of the trophy buck industry and just got sick of all the greed and wanted to make a statement? Soil test is a must. Best if you lime way ahead of time to get your PH up. That way your plants will be able to get the nutrients out of the soil they need. And definetly use the weed killer, it makes it a little more expensive but will make a huge difference.

picked up a box of 165's today

What did you replace it with? And what ammo? I was using the only thing I could find at the time. I think it was 100 grain remingtons don't remember, it was 15 yrs ago. I see they make 117 grainers now and I think I have even seen 120's before also. I ended up picking up a 270 and shooting 140 grain nosler accubonds. I unfortunatly never got a chance to shoot anything with it and ended up selling that and picking up a T/C Triumph when I moved back to NY. Just recently picked up another rifle in 30-06 that I havent shot yet either.

I would rather have a bullet seperation inside the deer and deliver all its energy than a bullet that didn't mushroom at all. My buddy uses 150 grains in his 30-06 and it liquifies there insides. 165 should be good also 180 might not expand and anything over that might not either. Does that mean either of those won't kill a deer, no any well placed shot through the lungs broadside wheather it expands or not is 99% sure to kill a deer. But I would still like for the bullet to shred the lungs and cause instant lights out.

Hopefully the parents watch there kids and just don't send them off on there own like I know alot of them probably are going to do. If I get stuck with an arrow on the way to my stand and live I'm going to be seriously pissed !! ???

I plan on using the cheap Remington corelock ammo in 150 0r 165 grain. ANyone have any problems with these? Remington Core Loks are not a cheap ammo, they are one of the best factory ammo's you can purchase. If you are shooting an .30-06 I would not recommend a bullet under 165 gr. for deer. FDXX75 Ok how bout less expensive than premium ammo I was looking at the 165 ballistics and they look pretty good. If I sight in at 145 yrds 3 inch high I could aim center mass all the way out to 287 yrds give or take, without falling out of the kill area, depending on the rifle. Will have to get a few boxes and see how far out of the kill zone they drop with a 18 inch barrel.I think it will be a little more drop than a 22 1/2 inch barrel.
