How do you clean a semi auto from the action forward? I was thinking of trying some of the winchester supreme ammo myself. I was wondering if the nickle casings and lublox bullet coating would help feeding? The corelock remington casing seem to be grungy and the soft points usually seem a bit rough. Good for practice though, easy on the wallet.

I don't think you could be in any better of a place for fishing than that area.

I own a 750 carbine in 30-06. I have read a lot of forums about the 308 being bad with the jaming, not sure why but I would completely disassemble it clean it spotless or have a gun smith do it and then go from there. If it still jams try a new mag. My 30-06 was a bit sticky even after cleaning it good. But after a box of ammo it cycles nicely now. Might just need a good breaking in.

Woodchuck Head Shot In NJ Over The Weekend!
erussell replied to TheFieldArcher's topic in General Hunting
Jeesh when did we get so many animal rights hunters on here?Besides the woodchuck be a unholy creature with huge nashing teeth and a nasty disposition. These demons crawl out of there holes from hell in search of small dogs and young children to drag back down and devour. He was probably going out to raid the local village for children. You took him out before he got to far by the looks of it. Thankyou for your service in saving small dogs and children. I my self have killed hundreds and it never seems to put a dent in the population, trust me Ive tried. -
Saw an article today in the paper the DEC was trying to get Bear and Deer to open on the same day as well as opening it in a few more areas. Still don't know if I would shoot a bear or not.

It really amazes me that people still fall for this! Especially when the Bible say's that only God the father knows when he will have enough of the wickeness of man and call up his faithfull. See Matthew 24: 36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,f]'>[f] but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left. 42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

Yeah ive got that one two, read it again before the benoit book. plus bowhunting bigwoods bucks and Benoit bucks new tactics for a new generation which I think is one of the best books ever written.

I'm reading the book that started it all right now, How to kill the biggest buck of your life. Actually its the 3rd time ive read it, I forget things easily so I decided to read it again. Larry said he watched his dad kill a 16 point 350 lbs buck in vermont back when he was a kid and thats what started it all for him. He was hooked on monster whitetails after that and the rest is history.

Or should I say two fishers Never mind the fishers, I blew the photo up and it is obvious its racoons. Long legs and a long tail with a tiny head

The Benoits were tracking this deer in the late season and it shed its antlers. Must have known a Benoit was after him and he needed to shed some extra weight to put some extra distance between him and them.

How would you like to drag this out of the back country!!

stopped raining ...got some plowing done.
erussell replied to G-Man's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Going to save some money this yr and not plant in the spring. With all the rain everything is nice and green and the apple trees are loaded with bloosoms with no chance of frost this late in the spring. Apple trees should be loaded this fall. Still going to plant brassicas in the fall though. Hopefully it will stop raining by then. -
Anyone ever go to this. Looks like a good time and not to far from where I live.

erussell replied to 5.9cummins's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
Would like to try this next as soon as my predator gray wears out. How well does it hold up to washing? Does it fade really bad? -
They are still there just spread out

I like the rubber boots for the scent free qualities, if taken care of . To many things to worry about with hunting, having a nice buck come the "wrong way" and scent my tracks is always a real possibility. Better just to cut that part of the problem out altogether. I keep my rubber boots super clean and wash them off with scent free soap after every hunt. When I took my itascas back I had hunted out of them for two month just about everyday and the lady at the desk said they looked like I had just picked them up from the store. : ) Plus there are several creeks I have to cross to get to some of mystands back in the thick stuff and its just better to be able to cross where I need to with knee high rubber boots than to have to find a tree to cross everytime.
