  1. Just to clarify, my Dad did not make this decision. He knew it smelled a little funny, but is no expert. He brought to the butcher we always use.  It was there, that the decision was made by the butchers. From what I was told, the butchers started pulling some hair and looked it over pretty good before making the determination.

no worries he did more than most may have done....I butcher my own and have had some that probably wouldn't pass the sniff test....especially if you guys donate the meat, he doesn't need any problems and is probably a little more cautious.

  2. I'm not going to second guess anyone, and really don't want to use this thread to bring it up, but here it goes.........unless you start to butcher the animal and smell what the meat is like when you do so, it's hard to make the decision that it's bad based on just smelling the body cavity...and that very well may have been what happened, but just thought I'd throw it out there....with that being said, I give your Dad a lot of credit for breaking his ass finding it and bringing it home....this in no way was directed at him, just a general observation.

  3. Thank you Sir! That's all I needed to know. Finally someone with the answer!

so you weren't looking for the right answer, just the answer that you wanted to hear......you could have said that in your first post.

  4.

You are trying to stir things up.  Why start off with denying it, when you're clearly not answering the original question or staying on topic?   It must be nice to walk around with your holier than thou attitude, looking down at all the sinners.

Have you ever seen a sign that said 55 miles per hour?   Did you ever drive, maybe 60 miles per hour, past a sign like that?  Let me ask you a question, if you're willing to ignore this law on the public highway, what others are you willing to ignore?   How many dead prostitutes in your shed, boyo?

A law isn't "You can't do that".   A law is "You do that and this will happen".   He's trying to figure out what will happen.   Your comments aren't constructive at all.

so laws only set the fees for certain activities and don't say you can't do them?.................that's a pretty interesting interpretation.

  5. BTW..Thank You First-light...

What makes you ppl think... The Eastern Grey Wolf that breed with yotes in Canada could not or would not  follow the same migration route that their hybrids followed?

I have no doubt that's it's possible...... I also don't believe that if one was truly killed here that DEC would cover it up and say it never happened and that it wasn't a Wolf of Wolf/Coyote Hybrid, those biologists get all kinds of excited when something new shows up in the area they study. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say they don't launch an all out investigation just one sighting, and I would also think that any Taxidermist that knows what they are doing would report any animal to DEC that they think is something that is not what it is brought in as......they have to answer for the animals in their possession if not legally tagged or possessed.

  6. Bureaucrats within DEC who would put their careers at risk in a cover up are as rare as wolves, cougars and wild elk in New York. Conspiracy theories.........................

yeah, and what would be the benefit to cover up an animal that suddenly shows up in a new area, whether it be just passing through or establishing a new population?

  7. We have killed 60+ coyotes a year for the last 10 years, and I have only seen one close to 60lbs...58 being the heaviest. Only been a dozen over 50. Any one who says they get 60-70lbs yotes are not believeable. Of all those yotes I believe they average around 35lbs.

what's your guess on the weight of the one in the original post?

  8. I don't know the penalty for something like that, you're best bet would be to call DEC and ask..........or just pick up a set of compact climbing sticks, they go up just as quick and with less effort than screw in steps, why risk a fine and whatever else may come along with getting caught?

  9. No the douchbag would be someone like you that comes on a hunting site talking hunting when all he has to show for the year is a 100lbs yearling that any first timer in the woods could kill!!  Right jjb?

yup, just like all the other's who actually hunt for their deer.....now go back to sucking your deer semen into a straw....and don't forget to spit when you're done.

  10. No clue where your getting your information. Because I hunt with my Dad, I was given everything on a silver platter? I was raised in an average middle class family.

I made more $ at 24 years old than my Parents did combined. So again, not sure what they are giving me? I'm 30 years old and in 2011 I bought a 1 bedroom co cop with my own $ for $150k (no mortgage) in Westchester county. Would you would like documentation? I will send it to you. I have nothing to hide. Unfortunately, November and December is busy season where I work so I'm limited to the days I can take off to hunt. That's why I take days off to go on hunting trips in October. Again, feel free to PM to discuss anything further. You still haven't proven you make double what I make.

You have some serious problems man.

that's all well and good, but do you have a gray and yellow mullet?....that's what separates the men from the boys.
