  1. Ok  I walk into bowshop to get set up as first time archer Looking at compounds i get measured up I get a release aid and all the goodies to go with my new bow.  I pick out a bow and am ordering one.

The draw length of the bow will be different depending on whether i use a D-loop or not.

I say yes, if you want to keep the same anchor point you had without one.

  2. a bow set for a 29" draw length will always be 29"....but if I add another 1/2 to 3/4 inches by adding a D-loop, will you not have to draw back an extra 1/2 to 3/4 inches to come to full draw? If I only draw back 29", I'm gonna be 1/2 to 3/4 shy of meeting "full draw"...no?......I understand the draw length as set on the bow will not change, but the distance you have to draw the bow back will change by whatever the D-loop adds...........

  3. 20 yards across (60 feet), is a pretty far span to build a bridge, definitely would be a job to build something safe to cover that distance..........I would think stretching a rope across and using that to pull a john boat across might be the safest and cheapest way to go...using the rope instead of oars will cut down on unnecessary noise.

  4. I was hunting with a friend once, as we were entering a field with him in the lead, a buck crossed the field in front of him...........I watched as he shouldered his gun and worked the bolt until every shell was ejected, he never fired once.

  5. although the bear hunting looked bad, it's not a hunting show....we honestly don't know if they spent zero time or 10 hours on the follow up...........I did some internet searches on that show and the people on it , they're millionaires, as a matter of fact, the one familys daughter is the singer Jewel.

  6. I wonder if they make a fridge/freezer with the small section is the fridge and I could keep beer in there... That would be cool Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

you can keep beer in a freezer, just drink it before it has a chance to freeze.

  7. With archery, I think it is fine the way it is. At 500', as I said before, you would really have to be purposely shooting at a ridiculously elevated aiming point to hit anyone that far away or their house. Probably would also be true even at 100 yards as well. I also think the privacy invasions would also be alleviated with a 100' or 500 ' setback. And even at that, I still would like to see some language added to all setback restrictions that mentions features, people, pets, etc., in the background of where a shot is aimed.

Since firearms setbacks have also made their way into this discussion, I would add that the 500' setback is adequate as long as there is language added making it illegal to shoot toward buildings, people, pets, etc.  How that wording ever got left out of that law is beyond me.

no need to worry about that wording being out of that left out of that law.......the NYS Penal law covers it if someone acts recklessly when it comes to the discharge of weapons, whether it be in a hunting situation or otherwise.
