  1. I wasn't suggesting to have a loose gun in ur pocket, I have the one with the sticky outside, holster stays inside the pocket when you draw the weapon..........I have the Ruger LCP 380.
  2. I don't think Pheasant are an invasive species, they have a pretty low survival rate that's why they continually restock them.........just because something is non native, doesn't mean they're also invasive.
  3. you can already do that if you have permission from the landowner.....no need to change anything.
  4. for those who carry for self defense outside the home, I can just about guarantee you'll have better chances of protecting yourself with a pistol you can pull out of your pocket in a split second as opposed to a pistol you have to fumble for that's concealed in a holster under a shirt or jacket...........in most situations, you're reacting to a threat, which pretty much means they've already targeted you, so they already have the advantage.
  5. If you're not on good enough terms with your neighbor for them to let you hunt under the 500' rule as it stands now, I can't imagine this will help matters much, just because some things are legal, doesn't exactly mean they are the right thing to do........hell, I could blast my radio outside, legally from 8:00 a.m until 11:00 p.m. just about everyday, that doesn't make it right......we hear people getting pissed off about other hunters setting up to close to the property lines as it is, even if it's 1000 yards from their house, I can only imagine what is gonna go on if they allow us to get within 50 yards of a house, and we all know that there's enough jackasses out there who put common sense aside and just do stuff because they can.
  6. the imaginary one, people think that adjoining landowners shouldn't set up within 50 yards of the property line............we hear people bitching about stands too close to the property line all the time.
  7. if this law passes, it's going to require hunters to apply a little bit of common sense into it.......I've heard more than one landowner on here complain about adjoining landowners violating the imaginary buffer zone by setting a stand up too close to the property line......even if it's a mile from their house, go figure.
  8. I think it all depends on the sport...........the NFL seems to have more than enough animals to cover all the other sports.
  9. just add him to the list of all the other "super stars" who had the world by the balls and eventually just wound up crashing and burning...hopefully he'll smarten up, but I doubt it.
  10. you're probably pretty close if not on the mark...........I know many gun owners who are unaware of how it may effect them, I bet many gun owners aren't avid shooters or hunters.....the extent of their owning a gun is just that, owning one.
  11. surprise her with a day at a spa..........you'll have to find some way to occupy yourself and hunting sounds like the perfect way
  12. don't many non assault weapons use the same ammo as assault weapons?.......sounds like B.S. to me.
  13. I went with the Cortisone shot after nothing else worked..........that was over 10 years ago and haven't had any problems since.
  14. no charge.......pm me ur contact info and I'll try and get them out this week if u want them, they are a mixture of well known factory ammo brands.
  15. any of you interested in some once shot .243 brass? I was cleaning out my basement today and found about 120 spent casings, I don't reload and have no intention of doing so........... Let me know if interested.
  16. that sounds about right...I would just use caution unscrewing and and replacing the metal cap that caps/finisnes off the forearm, if I remember, the threads on the sleeve that fits inside the forearm are very fine and easily crossthreaded.
  17. read the regulations and you'll get your answer...don't rely on info from others on the internet, and remember, the DEC regs don't override the NYS Penal Law.
  18. good post....killing an animal is seldom a pretty sight.
  19. whether or not many want to admit it, and whether it's 4 deer in 9 seconds or 1 deer in 1 second, killing an animal with a firearm or an arrow is a rather brutal (for lack of a better word) way of ending it's life and isn't always pretty......I've made perfect shots on deer and watched them make the death run, bounce off trees and flop around for a couple seconds and also made bad shots that I'm sure caused a much longer death..........it's all part of what we do, and what can happen..........
  20. I find it odd that some are mortified and disgusted by a spine shot deer crawling around for 15 seconds before it's finished off, but yet it's totally acceptable to let an arrow shot deer run off and spend the next 4-8 hours dying from a poorly placed arrow while the shooter waits it out, in fact, you'll hear many say that it's the right thing to do.
  21. looks like it depends on what caliber it is, is it an autoloading handgun, is it a bolt or semi auto, the Safe Act........a lot of variables
  22. It is illegal to take or hunt wildlife: while in or on a motor vehicle (except by the holder of a Non Ambulatory Hunter Permit). with the aid of a vehicle's lights. on or from any public road. with any firearm equipped with a silencer. with any firearm which continues to fire as long as the trigger is held back (an automatic firearm). with a spear. with a bow equipped with any mechanical device which is attached to the bow (other than the bowstring) for drawing, holding or releasing the bowstring, except for a hunter with a disability who is in possession of a Modified Archery Permit (compound bows are legal). with a spear gun or crossbow except for a hunter with a disability who is in possession of a Modified Crossbow Permit. with an arrow with an explosive head or shaft. with any device designed or intended to deliver drugs to an animal. with any semi-automatic firearm with a capacity to hold more than 6 rounds, EXCEPT the following semi-automatic firearms:firearms using .22 or .17 caliber rimfire ammunition, or firearms altered to reduce their capacity to no more than 6 shells at one time in the magazine and chamber combined, or autoloading pistols with a barrel length of less than eight inches.
