THANK YOU PRESIDENT OBAMA
jjb4900 replied to WingNut's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
that's probably because someone else is getting stuck picking up the difference......don't thank him, because he ain't paying for it. -
I haven't quite pinpointed it yet, but after reading all this I've come to the conclusion that something changes.........

Will the SAFE Act apply?
jjb4900 replied to skeets716's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
a bad domestic situation does another one in...... -
I say yes, if you want to keep the same anchor point you had without one.

Bowsite.com usually does one every year that is pretty good, think they just pick top of the line bow from each manufacturer.

So is this what you "upstate guys" do on a Saturday night?

I just poured all my milk down the drain....... -
a bow set for a 29" draw length will always be 29"....but if I add another 1/2 to 3/4 inches by adding a D-loop, will you not have to draw back an extra 1/2 to 3/4 inches to come to full draw? If I only draw back 29", I'm gonna be 1/2 to 3/4 shy of meeting "full draw"...no?......I understand the draw length as set on the bow will not change, but the distance you have to draw the bow back will change by whatever the D-loop adds...........

it's right up there with Buckmasters...
-
20 yards across (60 feet), is a pretty far span to build a bridge, definitely would be a job to build something safe to cover that distance..........I would think stretching a rope across and using that to pull a john boat across might be the safest and cheapest way to go...using the rope instead of oars will cut down on unnecessary noise.
-
I would support that less than antler restrictions...if that's possible

anything with teeth seems to be a home run the farther North you go......... -

Kittery Trading Post in Maine. -
I was hunting with a friend once, as we were entering a field with him in the lead, a buck crossed the field in front of him...........I watched as he shouldered his gun and worked the bolt until every shell was ejected, he never fired once.

Preference Points for out of state Hunting
jjb4900 replied to BizCT's topic in Out of New York Hunting
does anyplace even require building up preference points for caribou? -
I have one just like it and have taken a few deer with it, nice gun for sure.....and they get a pretty decent price for them these days, one of the few guns I have that have actually gone up in value.

no matter what chemical or solvent you choose to use, always wear protective gloves and make sure you're in a well ventilated area.....

Uncle Ted Yapping a way…..
jjb4900 replied to First-light's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
although at times he can seem a little off the wall, I like him......you'd be hard pressed to find a more knowledgeable and articulate speaker.........the majority of people would be made to look like fools in front of a microphone, Ted has the ability to turn the tables on his interviewers, and most of the facts he gives are spot on. -
although the bear hunting looked bad, it's not a hunting show....we honestly don't know if they spent zero time or 10 hours on the follow up...........I did some internet searches on that show and the people on it , they're millionaires, as a matter of fact, the one familys daughter is the singer Jewel.

try brake cleaner, it leaves no residue......kerosene will leave an oily residue behind, kind of what you're trying to avoid.

Governor Announces Support for Crossbows in NY
jjb4900 replied to Tinlodge's topic in CrossBow Hunting
I'm all for the fact that our founding fathers secured the right for us to keep and bear arms, to say that it is a god given right, in my opinion, is not defendable....it's like saying Santa Claus gave me a gun for Christmas, so it's my right to own one. -
you can keep beer in a freezer, just drink it before it has a chance to freeze.

jjb4900 replied to Tinlodge's topic in CrossBow Hunting
I had no idea God a hand in giving us the right to keep and bear arms, interesting to say the least........oh, does he even exist? -
no need to worry about that wording being out of that left out of that law.......the NYS Penal law covers it if someone acts recklessly when it comes to the discharge of weapons, whether it be in a hunting situation or otherwise.

interesting that some say it's ok to shoot a BIG spike and break the AR law but how would they feel if someone shot a small spike?
