  1. Funny how when O.J. Simpson was acquitted , it was like a National Holiday.

that just made me laugh thinking about that outrageous slow speed pursuit...........weren't there even supporters on the roadside holding up signs for him? biggest travesty of justice in history.

  2. In those areas, I am concerned about my dogs in the early season, especially at high tide, because of sharks. So I wouldn't use a dog.

I think if he wants to hunt there for scaup or something, he certainly can use a boat for a layout near a "pass" or decoy them in the shallows especially when low tide coincides with sunrise. I have done it (Raritan, Barnegat, Chesapeake) and it may not be a purist way but big spreads of divers aren't absolutely needed, scaup , buffleheads, etc.. will come into a half dozen mallard blocks.

sharks in the winter? was there ever a person attacked by a shark at any of NY beaches even in the summer?

  3. in my county, the Police are assigned election officials to drive around on election day to the different polling places to make sure things are kept on the up and up.........most Officers aren't really up on the election laws.

  4.  And do you think that doesn't happen ALL the time....some times a little win is better than no win at all...

just did a quick search....apparently that would be a violation of NYS election laws...........I would think they could be charged with a violation of that law and the weapons possession law.

  5. not destroying? I know some guys who use these permit in late spring and that wouldn't be for me. Late summer shouldn't be to big an issue, early and it might affect some fawns. I know a guy that gets out during september. That always kind of bothers me, but his permit says no antlers? I don't know. always thought it was weird.

some can be either sex tags........antlers must be turned over to the DEC, that's how the one i was on worked.

  6. had wrist surgery 6 weeks ago, this may be the first bow season I'll miss in 31 years.....I could probably get away with a low poundage bow, but not sure if I want to lay out the funds for the purchase.....only other option is getting lower poundage limbs for my Hoyt, but haven't really looked into that yet.

  7. I've honestly never hunted with anyone in NY but my Dad. We always obey all laws n regulations, that's how I was taught. That being said from word of mouth in the area, etc. I do know of people who cheat with Texas style corn feeders and use a rifle caliber t/c during ML season. It's shotgun county, so being able to shoot 200-300 yards is a big difference.

I could imagine these same guys hunting with an xbow during archery on their big private lands and then bringing their deer to a butcher with the arrow wound and say it was a bow kill. I'm sure this stuff goes on all over New York.

this stuff goes on in every season and with every type of weapon........no secret there.

  8. I have to ask where does all the deer damage happen. My property is in 8P. One of the biggest AG districts around. The farmer I lease to doesn't come around crying to me the deer are killing his living. He does tell us he has permits but I wouldn't use them. As far as I'm concerned I see more damage done by a sow with 3 cubs then a by the deer. I guess when the farmer outright owns the land he would rather kill anything that may come between him and a profit? Totally legal but under their (farmer) discretion.

maybe you don't use them, but is someone else? could it be that some farmers claim crop loss to get government aid? who knows........I will say that down on L.I., a lot of farmers get $$$ from the government to have deer fences installed around their property, and I'm sure they have to show a loss in order to qualify...........farmings a tough way to make a living so I'm sure even a little loss is painful to the wallet.....the one nuisance permit I was on was at an airport, it was a safety issue because the deer would feed around the runways.............and it was closely monitored and regulated, just in case anyone wants to suggest having people shoot around a runway is a safety issue in itself.

  9. Those scumbags were outside a polling place in last Nov presidential election, in a mostly white, elderly neighborhood. The were carrying billy clubs, scaring away many elderly in their 60's and 70's from voting because they were scared of them scumbags. WOW, real tough aren't you, ya piles of dirt. Where was Eric Holder after this? NOWHERE to be found. Yea, in the CORPS we were either light green or dark green. But these black panthers are nothing but a big sh#@! pile, and smell like it to. This country is going down the toilet.

there's laws against campaigning or attempting to influence voters within a certain distance of a polling place on election day........were the authorities not notified of this?

  10. funny thing is, if the verdict went the other way, their would be very little protesting and racial outcry, people would have accepted that outcome and said that the justice system came to the reasonable conclusion given the evidence .........

  11. Filthy, dirty, uneducated, racist  little maggots in their filthy little black berets acting all tough guy, and threatening to kill whites and their babies ?. Of course they normally make these threats  when they outnumber people 20-one.

Has the reverend Al, Jessy Jackson, Bozo or any other of the famous clowns ever denounced these filthy animals??? Hmmmmm. Have they ever explained the difference between this filth and the KKK?

the only difference is the costume and who they target....other than that there is none..that and the kkk guys probably have day jobs.

  12. A forum on crossbows was held May 22 at the state Capitol, where, for several hours, anyone wishing to speak for or against crossbow hunting in New York would be heard. There were 13 that spoke at this forum, and ALL were pro-crossbow. Where was that group of New York Bowhunters whose web site plainly states that they “are opposed to any weapon, other than those bows drawn, held and released by hand in any archery season or archery season-only area?”

It seems to me that NYB has given up. The result is inevitable.

who were they talking to, a bunch of politicians who don't know the difference between a compound bow, crossbow or slingshot?..............I can just picture the blank stares on their faces.

  13. Belo - Put your $ where you mouth is if your so confident.

    $1,000 bet.

Crossbows allowed in archery season in New York in 2014, 2015, or 2016 = I win

2017 or later = You win.

I am 100% serious. We can sign a contract.

does that mean there's the potential that this thread will be kept going till 2017?

  14. OMG...A Nugent hero worshipper bowing at the alter of the Nuge!  I bet you worship Ann Coulter, too, don't you?

he's a better speaker than the NRA rep's........if you're anti 2nd Amendment or self defense than I don't know what to tell you.......who do you think is more pro gun and a better speaker for it?
