  1. The one with the best scope has trouble beating the average compound shooter on the same range at these tournaments.

I see why they have their own class. Just like Hunter class wants nothing to do with the MBR and I don't attempt to compete in the Senior Hunter Class with my recurve (allowed).

But all you with the irrational fear of a crossbow keep posting.

Demonstrates just how foolish the original question was regardless of how clever the OP thought he was in asking it.

sorry you found it to be a foolish question....just figured those who argue crossbows offer no advantage over long bows in a hunting situation would feel the same about them in a competition setting.

  2. You don't see a class at the IBO for a muzzle loader or rifle or spear or atal.

Why? Because they are not archery.

I find it hard to believe that someone does not believe the winner that day of any shooting sport at a major event would not be the master of that discipline and had put in the time and effort to be skillful.

Or is the implication there is no skill needed to shot and win in a competition other than archery?

is shooting a crossbow considered archery?

  3. Yea I realize they can come and bash your front door down, shot your dog and take all of your guns but lets look at some simple math here.

We have a state population of about 19.5 million, with and estimate of 3 million assault style rifles. I think you could easily double that assault rifle figure. Lets say for arguments sake two 30 round mags per assault rifle, maybe 6 million or more illegal mags. So far the state has had less than 300 people register their assault rifles. How on earth can they or do they plan on ever enforcing this law. They would need the entire U.S. military just for the state of NY and that is if they ever decided on a door to door campaign which I think could start a war and get real ugly ?????

I think the only enforcement you'll see is the random arrests of people who are found in possession of the restricted firearms and or magazines, or the ones arrested during any type of sting operation.........most towns, counties, villages, don't even have the means or funds to set up any type of registry for the assault rifles and I don't believe the State is planning on setting them up to do so.

  4. I think making sure the barrel is totally clean and 100% dry before you apply a rust inhibitor / preventative is key.....I've always used bore butter and never had a problem......I always use boiling water and the left over heat helps dry the barrel, and have even heated it with a blow dryer to be extra sure it's dry before using any type of rust inhibitor / preventative.

  5. I said my piece and to the best of my knowledge in manner that did not name call, or speak badly of anyone. My intention was to just move on, but now shawnhu decides to take shots at my daughter. Nice!! Want to take anymore cheap shots at me or my family for no reason? Class act buddy!

Shawncun* is in a class of his own...not much more can be said.

  6. I had my first apartment when i was 16. I lived with a guy for 4 yrs and another for 8yrs and now i have been married for 10 yrs. I am positive my daddy thinks i am a virgin. yep he does

and I bet if someone made the same comments to him about you that were made on here, he would have choked the sh*t out of them.

  7. I guess I just don't understand why someone would enter a conversation, in which guys are talking about their teenage daughters, and start saying things like teenage girls are sluts, they get "drilled" at parties and in cars, you never met a girl who was Virgin past the age of 20, when they're sitting down stairs with they boyfriends, you know what they're doing... blah blah...If those are your opinions fine, but they had no place in this conversation. If you had daughters you might get a little twisted hearing someone talk like that.

If your intention was to insult people, with your uncalled for comments or if it was just to sound like an 18 year old punk   congrats on both.

and that pretty much sums up what caused this topic to take the turn it did.

  8.

Are you talking about " Wet DREAM Republic" ?

As charming as you are I suspect you may spend lots of time choking your chicken..

that's a little out of line, how would a guy who claims his shoulder injuries keep him from shooting a bow, have the strength to choke his chicken?

  9. No kids yet. But the fact is that every pretty girl goes through a slutty phase, some stay in the phase longer than others. If you have a dorky daughter she won't be a sloot, but she will have self esteem issues because she's not pretty. Hopefully, I have boys.

let us know when you're done going through your retarded stage........oh, and some stay in that phase longer than others, you sound like you may be one.

  10. found a website that gives updated info on ammunition availability from numerous dealers.....GunBot.com, was able to get ammo I needed from Cabela's within 2 days of watching the site.........it goes fast, so you need to keep checking, but beats driving to the local gunshop hoping they just got a delivery.

  11. this really isn't a hunting topic, so I chose not to put it in the bowhunting or crossbow hunting section..........is it acceptable to show up at an archery competition event with a crossbow to compete against Archer's shooting either traditional bows or compound bows?...........many say they're all equal, so looking for feedback.
