I've had opportunity to shoot deer like that.....the goal was to kill deer, not hunt. I have no problem doing both and even less problem making the separation.

I just used a regular sling...I honestly didn't find carrying a crossbow all that cumbersome

deer bones are pretty thin....a hacksaw would work just fine.

yep....most places give portions of mediocre food that's enough calories for 2-3 people.......

Advice on Used Treestands
jjb4900 replied to BizCT's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
seems to be a lot of treestand failure stories this year......never leave a stand out year round if you don't have to, and I really can't find a reason you would...especially hang on stands and climbing sticks. -
the sad reality is that many people will feel it's your obligation to take care of them / help them out......you'll probably have more enemies then friends if you won this kind of money.

what?.........David Bowie was at the Alamo???

Advice on Used Treestands

there is a strap that secures around the tree that is separate from the body harness.....when you get to the top, you take the tether that's on the harness and hook it onto the strap that's around the tree. How do you get down?.....good question. The tether is a 3' or so line that hangs off the back of the harness and attaches to the strap that is around the tree. -
don't the annual payments stop once the winner dies? I'd definitely opt for the one time payout..........I would take care of immediate family and disappear the best I could, as far as feeling the need to give a fortune to charity?? not to sure, think most of the wealthy do it for tax reasons, not because they really want to.

To those admittedly chasing big antlers as priority 1, what if ....

ok, back to the original question............I'm fairly confident I've killed the biggest buck I ever will, this is based on hunting the same areas for 30+ years, and family hunting that same area for years prior. I shot the biggest buck that was ever taken by any of us in that area about 10 years ago and nobody has come close with another. I still hunt he same way I did the day before I shot him......... -

I just shoot the smaller ones...that way I know there's bigger out there if needed. -

easy there....don't start talking crazy.

I also recall something saying if you fail to renew it's considered revoked and all those lovely new laws will apply to you.......I don't have a pistol license so am not up on that part, but might be something a license holder should keep up on.

Saratoga nursery taking orders
jjb4900 replied to First-light's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
I had them shipped to my house on L.I. they keep fine in a cool dark place just fine for about a week as long as you don't let them dry out............and those white pine grow fast and are pretty hearty.
