  1. yes, I initially missed his point, when he said " you can not get the fix-ens", I thought he was referring to stores not selling pistol ammo to those who were not licensed to possess a handgun.......we all know that rifles also come in handgun calibers.
  2. shooting a gun that shatters the silence of the otherwise peaceful woods and killing something is pretty violent....I don't have a problem with its use.
  3. no, you never did....but if the guy goes through all sorts of trouble digging up "evidence", then it would seem he does have some sense of entitlement......and yeah, I kinda get it if the guy had some type of history with the deer, probably how the guy came off when he was looking to get them from me.
  4. I was always under the impression they bailed off once the host died and cooled off.
  5. that's horrible I hope you're able to recover from your losses......hard to believe that anyone would have anything negative to say about people who get dealt a bad hand and need a little help.
  6. someone who takes a deer that they know someone is actively searching for is a totally different story as far as I'm concerned..........that's a sh**ty move in my book.
  7. what possible evidence could someone have to prove that he's entitled to antlers that were found attached to a deer that has been laying in the woods rotting for 3-4 weeks?......?
  8. not too mention, what gratification and bragging rights would someone get out of having the antlers of a deer that they failed to recover and were found by someone else 3 weeks later.....
  9. quite honestly, I wouldn't just turn it up two inches and assume that it's gonna hit where you want.....I've played with some scopes that what it said the adjustment was and what it REALLY was, turned out to be quite different......not to mention that some ammo can do different things once you start to stretch the distance.
  10. I think it's the picture on the back of ammo boxes that shows the bullets path leaving the barrel and arching up on it's way to the target that gives people the impression that it does........
  11. shooting at a fleeing shoplifter?......what a fool.
  12. I spoke with a Forest Ranger and he agreed, problem is, is that most of the State land is "Forever Wild" and cannot be touched.....
  13. pretty sure that's not accurate...I can by black powder and round balls all day long with no questions asked......as a matter of fact, I recently did just that......and the whole rifle/pistol ammo thing is the policy of some stores, not the law.

I'm not a big fan of either myself....but have killed deer on a nuisance permit, because as the farmer told me "if you don't do it someone else will".....and at least I put them to good use.

silliest thing ever.....the last thing I would waste money on, and I waste a lot of money.
  17. the article said it was "nearly" all white and called it a piebald.
  18. trespass violations can also be handled by the local Law enforcement agency....you don't need to go through DEC for that.
  19. had a few older double barrels, nice guns for what they were.
  20. just saying that what are "you", as in "we" going to do about those who look for any reason to attack someone for any reason..you are correct in what you said......as in, not much we can do about the vultures who look for an easy meal and attack someone for any reason.
  21. exactly.............but the vultures need to eat, so what are you gonna do?
