I think happy hour just ended......
-
now it's the local farmer's fault? oh boy......
-
Oh God.....
-
nothing wrong with that.......sorry for your loss, enjoy your vacation.
-
all three???

I'm guilty of some of what you said....have a house in the zone we hunt, not moving or travelling just to kill more deer...I can do that on L.I. at home, I also know there are mature deer in our hunting areas Upstate, don't have the time or devotion to put towards killing them exclusively, nowadays I get more enjoyment out of just getting up there into the fresh air and away from this rat race on The Island......I'm well aware of what the problem is and could fix it if it were that important......phew! I feel better getting that off my chest
-
oh. thought you did....I said "believe it or not, deer really aren't that important in the Grand Scheme of things........." and you responded with "jjb4900 - if deer aren't important at the time being then what does the DEC do all day"......and since it was about deer and you said ".jjb4900 - they manage all wild life and bust business owners balls like mine".....I figured DEC played into it somehow......my apologies.
-
looks like you ate a couple of those along with having a few cocktails to boot...........
-
oh, well I knew they did something important.....thanks for the detailed clarification. Do they have a lot to do with gay marriage, welfare, health care and whatever else was thrown into this thread, or no? wait, I left out marijuana...
-
I don't know much about crossbows, but are you gaining that much more by using that instead of a compound?
-
you certainly don't believe that all the DEC does is manage deer, do you? and some others were throwing Human issues into the mix, that's what I was referring to.
-
and watch your top knot........

believe it or not, deer really aren't that important in the Grand Scheme of things.........
-
probably more than one bison has fallen to a recurve bow......I think you'll be fine if you tweek your setup just a little.
-
I think it's just like regular power, but when applied properly has the ability to knock something down........maybe?
-
not even close....we all hate to see any animal suffer, but it's not worth it to me to stick my neck out and get in trouble.....or worse, break a heel or get a pull in my stocking.
-
turn your bow up to 65-70lbs if possible, get a cut on contact broadhead and maybe a heavier arrow if needed and go for it......if shooting the Bison is free, it would be worth the small expense of those couple things......I can't imagine a 50 Cal Hawken with roundball being much better then the archery setup.
-
keep him...can't be much difference between having 2 or 3 cats.
-
yeah, but for some odd reason, after reading countless threads on this forum about "what would you do?".........deer seem to make people want to teeter on the brink of doing silly stuff. I don't lose too much sleep about the every day horrors that deer face......
-
what does the owner think? I'm sure he has had all types come with different weapons to kill them.
-
he does not...he is usually home cooking and cleaning.
-
me neither, no way I'm risking personal injury for something like that.
-
I can't find that in any law books, can you direct me to where that is?..........I believe it's just an expression, usually found right next to "finders keepers, losers weepers".
-
maybe you lost it?................my guess is if you explained to them what happened they would NOT give you another tag. I'll assume you called the tag in and reported the kill, your outta luck if you ask me.

Where have all the grouse gone??
jjb4900 replied to Jaeger's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
this past summer I flushed a mother and about a dozen young ones.......never seen that before, I just wonder how many actually make it to adulthood. I see a fair amount (4W & 4R)......just never get around to hunting them since I usually focus on deer and don't want to stomp around the area.
