they are cheap guns..I won't go as far as to say they're crap, if it serves your purpose and expectations, then that"s all that matters.

the dangers are many....you put any weight on a failing cable or strap and cause it to fail and you could have a problem, not everyone is smart enough to go about checking their stands in a safe manner. The few minutes it takes to take them down and put them back up could make the difference in a safe season or a broken neck.

oh, I was under the impression that the perceived dangers about fracking was what happens underground with the chemicals involved in it and not so much about the gas itself since that exists everywhere in NY already.

I think the problem lies in allowing the straps to be weakened by the elements...that and eventually they will "grow" into the trees, pretty much a safety issue.

I don't know if it's better or worse then what NY has, but apparently you can be issued a certificate to buy ammo and guns that is good for 5 years that allows you to buy without background checks every time, of course it's a money grab, but seems like less of a pain in the ass as our laws are.....no bargain either way.
