Buck down baby buck down .... Dead 40 yds from the tree!!!
-
Sure does have that camera pegged ... Beautiful buck!
-
Back at it... Adjusted my stand little less than a quarter mile from where I had that buck swim down the river, sittin in a funnel just inside the tree line off the corn ... 40 yds in front is corn n 60 yds out back is the river... Sittin over a nasty fresh rub line with probly 7 or 8 fresh scrapes within a 100 yds ... Wish it was a little cooler but I'm thinkin it's gonna be a good night...
-
Just had the craziest thing happen ,, sittin 60 plus yds from a little creek or river... N heard some splashin , look over and there's a big buck swimming down the river, hopped out 200 yds down the bank ... Sucks cause he just bypassed my pinch point on his way to the corn... Uuggghh

i agree if your thinking your gonna get on that mature buck outa the gate with the weather cond., not to say that it doesn't happen, cause even a star burns out every now n then, but i just look at it as a chance to get some meat in the freezer and maybe the off chance to catch that buck commin through.. shot two doe's already, got the monkey off my back , n now i can wait till the weather cools off and the wind is right, enjoy time on stand without havin an itchy trigger, n waiting for that buck to slip up... to each his own.... but hey , liike everyone else said, we wait all year for this, why not make the most of it, of course frustration sets in when not seein nothin , but if you don't keep it relative , than ya i can see how they get burned out early...

trust me, growing up hunting duck, turkey, hog, deer, etc in the Florida swamp and marsh lands , i don't know a single hunter that doesn't own one down there! Things are ridiculous down there with the humidity and available standing water year round! its to the point of , if you ran out of pads or butane, you DONT hunt! they will eat you alive, or at least you wont see a deer because you are too busy swatting them with your hat at dawn n dusk.... have used it once up here so far , but the cool weather is coming soon, they'll be gone soon enough... they were bad this summer when scouting!!!!

this early im just lettin out a few soft young buck grunts a couple times at random...

i was lookin hard at gettin this before season, but im leaning more toward NO scents at all , except for the last couple a days of bow or first day or two of gun ... im too skeptical of quality of the urine or scent whatever it is , there are so many, just like anything each ones trying to make a dollar ....

Figured with the cool morning temps I'd better take advantage of it before I had to go to class at 1 pm .. 8 am she comes strollin in goarging herself underneath an oak that was raining akorns ... mmmm bacon wrapped, garlic stuffed venison roast ...

ya i got footage of it , but she was 22 or 23 yards out , had to thread the needle through the branches, and with that wide fish eye lenz theres not much to see if you don't know what your lookin at... and ya i know, the bow looks 4 foot long, again fish eye lenz, i was literally 3 feet in front of the camera and it captured everything... i just keep it on the bow 1) cause it acts as a pretty good stabilizer,2) if one happens to be within 10 yds in the open you would get some ok footage 3) ya never forget it so you always have a cam for videoing recovery or taken success photos.. that doe would have been a perfect candidate for the go-pro facing me on the bow and a zoomable camera on a camera arm... she fed underneath that oak for 20 - 30 minutes...
