  1. is it ? Never owned a viper , thought the platform was a larger model .. Well then if its the same platform than maybe he got a bad batch, idk , I'm 6'2" 220 and it is the most stable platform (climbers / hangings) that I've ever sat in , and quiet too ... "Scratching my head"
  2. Hmmm , I have the open shot and its solid as a rock and never heard a peep out if it up in the tree.. Wondering if because the vipers platform is a little larger it tweaks a little when shifting wt on it... Other than that a little noisy climbing but havnt found a climber yet that's not...
  3. Do u have to have a photo bucket account to view this? Can't see anything ...
  4. Haha, that's a good one !
  5. blonde walks into to the salon wearing headphones... she walks up to the receptionist n asks " how long will it take to cut my hair?" she replies " 15 minutes" ... she says no thanks and walks out... Next day the blonde goes into the salon and asks, " how long will it take to cut my hair today?.. reply " 10 minutes"... no thanks and walks out... next day blonde walks into the salon and asks, "how long will it take to cut my hair today?" reply. " 5 minutes" , blonde says ok.. sits down in the chair, takes a deep breath and takes off her headphones... the stylist starts cutting her hair and halfway through the blonde passes out n falls to the floor... "what the hell says the stylist!" she picks up the blondes headphones off the table and hear's " Breath in , Breath out, and breath in , breath out......
  6. Good niffff... That's gonna be a dandy this year... Those brows are crazy ..
  7. I used to use a two man ocean kayak open seater back home in Florida to go deep in the swamp... Pretty humerous with the deer or 200 lb boar hog I came paddling out with one time strapped in the front seat with my climber on top of it, haha... I like the kayaks better than the canoes cause u can go in skinnier water and they are WAY easier to paddle .. But they can get pricey , but I'm sure u could find one on Craig's list or something like that...
  8. Holy Sh(* is RIHT!!! im not sure i would have kept it together quite as well as he did, LOL!!!! thats crazy!
  9. I agree , bow season is where it's at! Lot more action n less people in the woods ( for us public hunters) felt like I had the woods to myself during bow which is a switch from fl archery with every Tom dick n Harry out there runnin around with there buggy's ...
  10. Not for nothin but ur deer r eatin really well just off what borders u ... I would try n stand out with somethin different that they cant get anywhrere else... In addition to ur corn I would highly recommend frigid forage turnip mixed with clover... Early season the clover is a no brainier , but now with the turnips mixed in they'll get an idea they r there when they come for the clover , n mid to late season when the turnips start gettin sugary I would bet a winning lotto ticket they will flock to those vs anything offered on surrounding properties ... And I've seen the type a bucks u've got around there .. Lookin forward to what ur gonna be chasin after this year...
  11. Ya I agree u can get away with summer traffic a little more than during season! I got one soakin now n I'm itchin to check it but have to let it lay cause I was just there less than a week ago, I ran into a big bodied buck on the way back to the truck with 10 or 12 inch beams , 3 inch brows , g2s probly a good six inches already and I could see the ends if his beams starting to split ... Good news with still a lot a growin time left ... Dyin to see if he frequents the cam and stays around for season ...
  12. I've been cruising the net to find some .22 lr and sportsmansguide, cabelas, bass pro , cheaper than dirt.com etc ... Are all out of stock! Did find a few sites that have them but for REDICULOUS prices... 555 rnd for 100$ , 1000 rnd for 1100$ , 5000 rnd for 3000$ ... Since when did a dinky little round become cost comparative to a 30-06... Used to go to Walmart n get a box of 555 for 18$ .. Hell, if I'd known this crap was gonna happen I would have bought 8 or 9 boxes a 555 back in Florida before I moved up here... Gander doesn't even have an empty shelf where small game ammo would even go... Hopefully I can scrounge something up before squirrel season comes this year... Not to mention a couple boxes a 30-06 for gun season... Might have to be forced to hunt with the twelve gauge cause slugs are easy to find on the shelves... Or may just hunt with the bow all year... Who knows...
  13. I agree with apoallo, I'm the same age , love war movies n though not so much anymore I've played most of the call of duties n what not... I think it really comes down to parenting, and we're seeing more and more results of diminishing values in parents these days ... I was always outside when I was a kid , to the point I used to catch hell because I always stretched it down to the last second before I had to be home before dark... Definitely a connection between physical activity and mental status , and with kids glued to tv's , phones and computer there becoming fatter n fatter too ... All the more reason to get a kid in the woods as soon as they can walk give em something to be passionate about ...
  14. Just checked the cam after a month soak n got some great traffic including a beautiful scene.. a momma and her youngin takin a stroll....
  15. Was at gander today in tonawanda n happen to get talkin with the assistant manager n asked him if he heard about the cabelas comin in down the road ? Answer " I already have my application in" lol ... Priceless
  16. Looks like good little kill plot... Just enough for them to pop by n nibble before goin out to the beans or corn whatever they plant on ur property ... Those little plots in the middle a the woods in my opinion are gold... Secluded little spots for them to mark there territory n come through scent checking for doe's ... Few seconds is all ya need Be interested to here back from ya this fall n see what it produces .. Good luck on that ten ! Looks like he made it n by the looks if it he should be a dandy this year, hopefully he's got some good velvet already on that cam ya got soakin...
  17. Wonder if they ever have a problem with yotes hoppin the fence , don't know how tall they r ...
  18. I basically transferred mine from a Florida forum.. If I had to change it , it would be " shwackemnstackem"
  19. Nice!!! I was shocked when I first moved up here that there wasn't a bass pro or cabelas anywhere in WNY... Gander and dicks can suck it... Frankly I think it would put this gander mountain in tonawanda out a business ! And it's only gonna be 10 min away , love it...
  20. Walkin in the owls were goin nuts, had a hen cluckin n tree yelpin an hour our before sunrise, no gobbles though... Last day, good luck all!
  21. He's gonna be a real nice buck this year...
  22. All I can say is it happens, but the big no no u made right off the bat is taking the gun off ur knee.. I'm sure it's no news to u but once u put that gun in ur lap ur stuck! When there in that close even if he is now to your right, doesn't mean he's not gonna work out in front of you at some point, especially with the jakes out in front of u... U can still pick the gun off ur knee and swing... It's happened to me before but when they come in silent n gobble right next to u when ur snoozing... Gotta love it ...
  23. My blind was all iced over this Mornin , brrrr
