Yep headed out in the morning. Went and checked the spot an fresh tracks everywhere. Pulling out all the stops...gobbler call...jake decoy...you name it!

Figured i would ask. Ive got a primos gobbler call but i rarely have used it. Thinking maybe it can be the call i need to locate a tom during this late season. Any thoughts? Also thought about using it and setting up a hen and jake decoy to add to the gobbler call.....thoughts?

Public land for me. I have one or two good spots on private land. But with work and whatnot....just is easier for me to hit the public land. Thats where i took my bird this season!

Ill probably pick up a red dot over the summer for my turkey gun....which also happens to be my deer gun lol. Odd as it may sound ive had good luck with the 30$ walmart special red dots. Just my opinion

Hunting sun up to noon tomorow. Judging by the tracks i saw, that were fresh....they came thru this morning before i got there. Im gonna complete my goal of two longbeards! Ive taken a jake and a gobbler or two jakes before....but never two mature birds in the same season! Connected on the 2nd of this month with a great 3 or 4 year old....time to complete the task!

Sat for a few hours and then got up an started walking. Tons of tracks just no bodies to go with them lol. Might try again tomorow.

Cant sleep haha! Ive only been out twice all season. Connected on may 2nd. But now it feels like opening day jitters all over again!

Im thinking open areas where they can dry off might be a good idea. Who knows ill probably just run an gun....

Pretty much what i figured. If you can get insurance then i assume your license is ok. Not sure either but only one way to find out.

Buddy called me yesterday said he had a racoon in his yard. This was around noon or so. Said it was walking real funny and making noises. Told him it probably wasnt safe and dont mess with it. Think he took the 22 and ended it. Its not common for racoons to be out during the day is it?
